My husband is a Jr. and we've thrown around the idea of of naming our baby (if its a boy) after him with the nn Tre or Trey but we are still on the fence about it. Wondering what your thoughts were? Thanks!
G-pa goes by Ed, Dad is Eddie, and my FI is Edward. For a very brief period of time we discussed using Edward Leonard and using the nn Leo, since all the other versions of Edward are being used. FI quickly decided he is tired of the name Edward Leonard in his family and doesn't want a fourth.
I've heard of calling a third "Tripp", which I like better than "Trey". Tripp sounds like a guy everybody wants to be friends with. :-)
Haha thats cute! I like both ways! I also like the idea of naming LO's after significant people/ using family names. You could always incorporate it another way too. I wanted to name DS after my dad/ brother/ use a family name. My brother has two middle names, one of them is my dad's first name, and the other is my dad's middle name. So I gave DS two middle names as well; I used my brother's first name, and my dad's middle name. Probably more than you wanted to know, but GL picking a name!

My stepdad's dad, my stepdad, and my brother, all have the same first and middle names. It meant a lot to my stepdad to have this.
ETA: They don't use "Tripp or Trey"... they just go by different variations of their first name so people can distinguish them apart. I'm not a fan of Trey or Tripp.

My brother is a third with no NN. When he was younger my dad was Big D & he was Little D (grandpa passed away before I was born). I'm not a fan of Tripp or Trey as NN.

My husband is a third. Personally, I am not a fan. We have had many mishaps because of their names being the same (we live in the same area as FIL). I think DH wanted to continue the tradition, but I told him before we got married that we would not have a William the fourth. DS2's middle name is William though.
Re: Any III's out there?
