So today I finally broke down and bought a manual pump- the Medela Harmony. I put off buying it because I didn't really think I needed it even though I had a night where my electric pump went crazy and I panicked (I EP). I bought it because we are going to be taking a trip to AZ next month and I wanted to have a handy (no pun intended) solution to make pumping easier with travel and let me just say...I LOVE IT!! I honestly think I might like it more than the electric pump...seriously. Granted, my hand did get a little tired after using it and my hands weren't free to do other things at the same time (they usually aren't anyway because of breast compressions) but it was so nice not to be hooked up to anything and be free to walk around while doing it. I also think it was gentler. It took me about the same amount of time to pump manually as it does with my double electric pump (I have a Medela PISA). Any one else have a similar experience?
Re: I regret not getting a manual pump sooner!
I am thinking of getting one...wish my mom friends and I could just go in on one together, like a co-op. I think I'd only use it for travel.
All I have to say is, EP mamas are amaaaaaaaazing and I give you all big virtual high-fives.
I have one, but I haven't used it yet. I might try it just to know what to expect. The other night I was pumping and the power was flickering. I just hate pumping (even though I EP) and I would rather play on here while I pump than do it by hand.
