What is with my left boob?!

I pump three times/day at work, plus at least twice at home to have enough milk to send with G to daycare. I've been doing it for months with no problems. Suddenly this week I am constantly leaking from the left "horn" when I pump (between the horn and the breast, that is, I don't seem to get a tight "seal" any longer). Do I have a dent in my breast now? No idea. So frustrating!!

Re: What is with my left boob?!

  • It happens to me right after I wash my pumping bra (which makes me have to go wash it again...) if I'm not careful.

  • Do you need different sized horns? Are they too small or big? I know the size of my boobs and nipples has changed over the last 6 months. I pump every day too and the way my horns fit, all of my nipple goes inside, I don't think it would be possible for milk to leak out the back side of the horn. Do you maybe need large ones? I read somewhere that most mothers need a different size then what comes with the pump.

  • I don't think you have a dent in your breast now. It happens to me and for me its all about postioning the horn correctly when I frist start. It happens more in the afternoon when I am not as full too. I have to stop and clean up the horn and my boob and then reposition it and make sure it is sealed well on the bottom. Have you tried to change the membranes on your pump? I notice that this will happen more when I need to change them too.
