We started potty training Tillman a few months ago. Yes, it might be a little later than some kids, but that's when I was ready to start dealing with all the accidents. Anyway, he did pretty good with #1 from the beginning, but for some reason, it took him forever to be able to go #2 in the toilet. It was super frustrating and gross. A couple months ago, though, he really got the hang of it. He was having zero accidents.
Sunday, at church, he went potty in his pants. They had to come get me and we had to leave. He went potty in his pants two other times during the day. Yesterday, I was at work and he was being babysat. He went potty in his pants twice! Just now, he was running around in his underpants and he says, "I went poo-poo in my pants mama." Oh my gosh. I know it doesn't help to get mad and frustrated, but what the heck is going on. I was to scream!

Re: So frustrated: potty training set back
?We didn't start training until Liam was three nor did we train Logan until just about three as well. So I think your right on track with the age.
Logan had set backs and I am not proud but there were a few times I lost my cool. I hate cleaning it up, but that's just life. The things I realized is that when he had accidents it was because he was holding it and didn't want to stop what he was doing to go. Liam peed once at preschool when we first started because he had no idea where the potty was and was overwhelmed with all the strangers around. Another time Logan peed all over the bathroom because he got stung by a bee and wouldn't tell me because he didn't want the stinger taken out. Every time it seemed like something else out of the ordinary was going on.?
Emma, not to scare you, but if it continues, I would call your ped just because it is one thing to go once but to do it multiple times in one day seems a little odd. It could be possible he has another issue. ?
What is his reaction to when he does it??
I understand, my son has been potty trained for 5 months now, he has been accident free until 2 weeks ago, out of the blue is had two crazy days like you have had.
We are chalking it up to attention, he did it around his cousins where all the attention is not on him. The second day was a home just with me and now his 6 month old sister is taking more attention. We have been mindful of that and no more accidents.
The potty chart with activity of Talon's choice has worked well for us. He will do anything thing to play flashlight hide-n-seek. Maybe he needs another goal to reach?
It really sucks cleaning up! I hope it's just a short phase.
