I'm just debating on trying to find a fake one on Black Friday--I like the smell, but not the maintance and clean up--especially with a brand new baby.....hmm.....
I always have done a fake but DH is really excited about real trees because that is what he always had so that is what we will most likly get. I dont care either way and he wants a real so I let him have his way.
For a couple of years we went to a tree farm close to our house and cut one down. However, we got a fake tree last year because I didn't like the idea of DS possibly sticking himself with the needles on a real tree.
DH and I have decided to get a fake one. I always had real ones growing up (we'd go to the mountains and cut our own with friends and family every year.) I'm in Texas now. It's just not the same going to a lot. More important, we don't like cleaning up the mess and disposing of it at the end of the year....call us lazy.
real now but fake when I was growing up. Although if i had my choice I probably wouldn't have a tree at all. I am a bit of a scrooge when it comes to decorations.
I prefer real for the smell and overall appearance, but we have a fake one because it is so much easier! It already has the lights on it, and we don't have to keep vacuuming up pine needles.
I had no idea so many people had Christmas tree allergies! I have always had real and love them. The smell is my favorite part of the holidays. I also love the whole experience of going and picking it out.?
It's sacrilege in our families to use a fake tree! I actually feel weird buying one off a lot, but where I live the you-cut places are not as good as where I grew up. My in-laws do two real trees - A 6-footer and a 12-footer.

Fake.
Mom and I are allergic to real and can't even go to houses with real during the holidays.
