Pregnant after IF

Another Doppler Question

Im very excited that my doppler arives today!  Thanks girls for the Sonoline B recommendation.  I have heard my baby's heartbeat (by a transvaginal ultrasound) a couple of weeks ago BUT havent heard it since.  When should I be able to hear the heartbeat with this doppler?  (Thanks!)

Re: Another Doppler Question

  • I was able to hear at 9 weeks on the dot - although it always took a while to find!

  • 9 weeks for me, too, but DON'T freak out if you can't find it until 11-12 weeks. I had to really search, pushing a bit more, angling this way and that. It ended up taking quite some time in those early weeks, and it might not work at all if you have an anterior placenta.

  • I wasn't able to hear my heartbeat on my Sonoline B until about 14 weeks, and I wasn't able to hear it everytime until I was about 17-18 weeks.  My OB and his nurse tried with their doppler at 10 weeks and was not able to hear the heartbeat.

So be patient and don't freak out if you can't find it now or if you don't find it everytime you check in the early weeks.  Baby is still really small and has lots of room to hide, plus your uterus is still behind your pelvic bone at this point.
