Oral vs. Regular Sex to bring on labor?!?

What kind of devilish man came up with this?  While googling (I know we shouldn't) ways to bring on labor- we came across several sites that were saying prostoglandins are better absorbed through the stomach & not the vagina!!  For realz??

Had my 38 week appt today & not dilated; cervix very soft though.  Dr. wants a u/s to see how big baby is; so I'm thinking she's thinking of an induction before baby gets toooo big.  Already planning ahead as to what we do to help naturally induce if at all possible.

    Interesting! If you're already soft, then I don't think you need the semen from sex, but orgasm can help conrtax.

    Those sites were probably all published by the same man/group of men that haven't gotten any in 9 months. I call evil conspiracy, don't buy it.

    But seriously, there has to be better ways. Good luck!

    This is true.  Just like you can take evening primrose oil orally or vaginally to help soften your cervix.  It's better vaginally, but orally works too.
