I can't decide what I want for Henry's big boy bed. What would you pick and why?
I was leaning towards a full, to use at some point with the convertable crib, but the baby is going to be in the crib for a while I'd imagine and I can always get a full later for the crib.

Re: twin or full ???
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

not sure of the exact size of the room, I imagine he'll have some toys in his room, but I don't think space will be an issue.
Twin.
I view full sized beds as fairly useless. Kids don't need more space than a twin sized and a full just takes up extra floor space. My kids play in their floors a LOT so I wouldn't want the full taking up space.
Plus - I think it's easier to find bedding for a twin.
Now.. if you were talking about twin vs. queen and thinking the queen might get used to sleep 2 people (ie: guests) from time to time it would be different for me and I might consider it but twin vs. full - my vote is twin.
Another thing to consider - future sleep overs. With a twin bed we can easily fit 2 full sized air mattresses or probably 4-5 sleeping bags comfortably in the same bedroom. A full would minimize our options at sleep over time.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
We went with a twin in Penny's room because her room is small. Reed has a twin because we got it for him when he was in a smaller room. Now his room is huge and I wish he had a queen so we could use it as a guest bed.

We thought about this for a while as well, but have decided to go with a full, mostly because we already had one. I think I still like the idea of a twin better, but we didn't see a reason to buy a new mattress and have to store or get rid of one we already had in the room (he's moving to one of our guest rooms). We also like that we can still use it as a guest room if needed.
I'm a little worried that the big bed will be overwhelming to him, but he adjusts well to things so I think it will be okay once he realizes it isn't just to jump on. His furniture will be delivered this week and then we will start to work on moving him, so I guess we'll know soon enough if he likes it.
