Where does your LO sleep???

Tonight is the first night my son will sleep in his own room in his crib! He has been in a bassinet beside me since day one. I'm feeling quite anxious about it. He is 2 months old tomorrow. Where are all of your babies currently sleeping? My sister thinks its too early which has made me a little nervous.

Re: Where does your LO sleep???

  • Lo is in her crib. Transitioned her when she was about four weeks.

  • DD went to her crib at 7 weeks. It was rough at first but best for all of us. She gets a restful sleep away from our snoring and I don't have to worry about waking her if I move or get up to use the bathroom. She was beginning to sleep better before I moved her so I wouldn't have to get up every 2 hours.

  • We are still in the cradle in our room at 8 weeks - but we are in the process of transitioning to the crib. She takes her second nightly/early AM sleep in her crib along with any morning naps. I have the monitor volume on high too so I can hear every breath! Its not easy for me either

  • My LO sleeps in a pack n play in our room. His bedroom is upstairs and across the house so I am not transitioning him until he wakes up 0-1 time a night. Right now he is at 2-4 and it would be too much...

Fwiw I don't think you are too early at all!

  • DD is in her crib. She has been from day 1. She slept in our room for 2 days and we all slept much worse than when she was in her own room. I used to have the volume really loud on the monitor but I have gradually felt comfortable enough to turn it down some. I don't think you are too early to transition, however you feel comfortable is what is right.

  • DS will also be 2 months tomorrow, and he sleeps in the RNP next to our bed. We live in a bungalow, so our room is upstairs and his is down. Since our room is the whole upstairs, his crib is at the far end of our room. He has reflux issues, so right now we're more comfortable with him in the RNP; we'll move him to his crib when he can lay flat on his back with no issues.

We did the same. He was in our room before, but transitioned without any problems after the first night.

  • She's in her crib in my room  (my room is kinda large).  We'll be moving in the next two months, so she'll go into her own room after we're in our new place.

    I don't think you're too early.

  • My DS is in a bassinet next to our bed. I am BFing him and I will prob switch him to his crib around 4-6 months. I think your baby will be fine in the crib now.

  • LO is in her RnP next to our bed for the first half of the night and then usually in bed next to me the second half. Ideally I would like to get her to the PnP in our room. I don't think I am ready for her to be in her own room yet

  • He sleeps in our room in his PNP. We'll be making the transition to his crib in the next few weeks.

  • LO is in the bassinet in my room next to me. She doesn't sleep through the night long enough for me to be willing to put her in her room down the hall. I don't want to drag myself down the hall to feed her. I enjoy only having to get up and go 1 step away to her bed now.

  • She is in a moses basket next to my side of the bed. She still wakes up several times a night, and has a lot of trouble settling due to reflux. With DD1, she stayed in our room for close to 6 months, because it's supposed to reduce SIDS incidence. When she is too big for the basket, we'll move her crib in here for a while. I just feel ore comfortable until she is a little more mobile. DD1 started to be disturbed by our getting up and down at a certain point, so we moved her to her own room. We'll do the same with DD2.
  • Starts out his night in his crib and then when I go to bed I bring him into bed with me.
  • LO is 6 weeks still in PNP in our room. Sometime closer to 2.5-3 months (prob 3) to own room and crib. We have a small house, but DH bought a camera so I can see her. :). I believe in the whole "fourth trimester" philosophy so until I see more self soothing I don't see the point, but I don't think it's too early even in first month, just more walks for feeding. I'm a first time mom so I dont know really :)
  • DS is 7 weeks and still sleeps in his bassinet in our room. We have one of those Arms Reach things that attaches to our bed. He's still waking up once in the night to eat, and it works better for us this way. But there's really no right and wrong in this situation. It's whatever works for you and your LO.

  • I never thought I'd be like this but I can't imagine DD not sleeping in our room. I like being able to reach her so quickly.
Took 2 years & 8 months to make our baby! Lilypie First Birthday tickers
  • She's still in her Moses basket in our room, but she's going to have to go to her crib soon.  She's almost too heavy and too long for the basket...  I'm not ready for it.  She has spent a couple nights in her crib and has often started out there... only for me to bring her over to our room into her basket after her first feeding of the night.

I'm so anxious about her being in her room... when I can hear her in person, I can tell if her little noises and wigglings are while she's asleep or awake.  I just hate having to listen to her through the monitor, which I too, have turned up SUPER loud.

DS sleeps in his crib.  We moved him when he was about 5-6 weeks old...I can't remember exactly.  He sleeps so much better in there than he did in the RNP in our room

  • We switched dd to the crib last week without issue.
  • DD is in a bassinet beside our bed right now.  She's almost outgrowing it though.  We're moving in with MIL at the end of the month while we wait to settle on our new house, so DH is going to set up her crib in our room there.  Then once we move into the new house, DD will go into her room in the crib.  I think it's whatever works for your family.  If we weren't moving, I would probably be starting to transition DD to her crib now.

  • DD has been in her crib in her own room since she was 1 week old. She slept in the RnP in her own room for the first 3 nights she was home.

We have a monitor, and haven't had a problem with her sleeping at all. She's been STTN for a few weeks (9ish-pm to 5:30ish-am).

  • I can't thank everyone enough for their responses... I'm feeling much better transitioning DD seeing all of your LO's who are already there and seems like most of the LO's on their own are doing well there. Although I can completely understand everyone still not quite ready to make the switch.

  • Lucia still sleeps in the co-sleeper next to us, though we are talking about transitioning her soon.  She still wakes around 3 to eat, so I think we'll start soon having her in there for the first part of the night, but bringing her back to the co-sleeper when we feed her at 3.  She needs a little soothing to fall back asleep afterwards, so it will be easier than staying up with her in her room.

  • DD is still in her co-sleeper bassinet in our room. We have talked about transitioning her into her crib soon- her room is literally right next to ours and I'd be fine with her in there at this point. However she still wakes 2-3x a night to nurse and for now it's just easier for me to keep her in our room. When she's down to one night feeding we will move her. We are doing naps in her crib to get her used to it.

  • Ideally she sleeps in the rnp. But she sleeps there, on my chest, in my bed. Once for 15 minutes she slept in her crib. Dd's crib is in ds2's room so she can't sleep in there at night till she sleeps at night.

  • Ideally he sleeps in his crib at night since day 1.  Though there have been some recliner nights in there.  Our room is right next to his, so things might be different if I had to go across the house to feed him.  (He still wakes up atleast twice a night.)

During the day is a free-for-all.  He sleeps where I think he'll stay asleep for a decent nap- whether it's crib, bouncer, or on me.
