how was your weekend?

Re: how was your weekend?

  • My weekend was great--it was 4 days long!  I took off Thursday to avoid murdering my boss, and we had Friday off for the holiday weekend.  Took it pretty easy...even got a massage on Friday!  We went out to dinner with friend Friday, and on our own for date night on Saturday.  Celebrated a low-key Easter and cooked a healthy yummy dinner full of "fertility foods."  Now back to work...at least I have our upcoming insemination to look forward to!

  • Fri: I got Ky and went home to do some laundry. When DW got off she wanted to go to the store so we had a family shopping trip at 8 PM!

Sat: Dropped DW off at work and ran errands....way too many as we got home in time for Ky to eat lunch and nap. I got as much cleaning done as I could during her nap which was not much since it only lasted about an hour. We went to DW's work and I cleaned, moved crap, and cleaned some more for her upcoming inspection. Ky was a hma and a suck up to her coworkers wife that was also there to help. We grabbed take out on the way home and fell asleep on the couch watching dumb frat boy movies the wifey loves.

Sun: I got up with Ky and had breakfast. She played while I chopped up veggies and made a meat/cheese tray to take to family Easter. Ann got up and Ky got her Easter basket (our bunny sleeps in Stick out tongue ). Ann was just getting out of the shower, Ky was in just a diaper and I was half dressed when Ann's parents showed up to drop off our lawnmower they had in storage. So we were all scrambling to get ready while trying to talk to her grandma (who has never seen our houe) and mom. We ahd to wait to leave since her dad decided to mow our front yard to "make sure the mower was working right". We had Easter at Ann's aunt and uncle's house and it was fumn and relaxing. Ky played with her cousins and tried to thieve eggs out of other people's baskets during the egg hunt. Ky went home with Ann's parents and Ann and I enjoyed a Sunday evening laying on the couch napping and watching movies!

  • Not much happened on Friday or Saturday, I was really sick.  I did dye eggs withthe girls on Saturday but that's about it.

Sunday: I felt better so I cleaned the main areas of the house and baked cupcakes while J cleaned the yard and garage.  A left with her Dad for the day.  J's family came over and J grilled while I set out eggs for the egg hunt.  The kids did the egg hunt and we ate.  Everyone sat around talking and when Apple needed a bottle I volunteered to take her inside and feed her, we ended up falling asleep on the couch for an hour.

We had a second egg hunt for A and Iz at 8:30 just so A could do one at home.  We put the kids to bed, finished watching The Social Network, then watched Friends with Benefits before heading to bed ourselves.

  • Thursday night - we got home and relaxed! Two people got laid off from my department that day, so it was a sedate and nervous night.

Friday - (negative OPK)I spent the day tidying the downstairs of our house, popped into town to return some yoga stuff to lululemon and practiced driving in the city - I didn't suck too badly, although sweaty palms abounded. I've only had a license for just around a year. I grew up in England and South Africa, and never needed one until I moved to the US.  We coloured eggs with a friend and her son (he's 15 and I KNOW that the grown ups had more fun than he did)

Saturday - (Negative OPK) We went shopping for some summery work tops for me, had a nice lunch and then came home. V was de-thatching our lawn and while she was working her socks off, I  went off to do some grocery shopping.

Sunday -  (Negative OPK) We woke up late, V continued working on our lawn, I sat outside reading yoga journal for an hour or so (and have the weird tan to prove it) then I made a 4 course lunch for us. V came down from the shower, and we were able to langour in the afternoon sun for a few hours, then came in and watched some movies.

Monday - (POSITIVE OPK!) Called to schedule our first insemination, now I wish I hadn't booked the day off work today - I need to keep my mind busy!

  • Friday - after work K met a co-worker and I at a pub for drinks and dinner.  DD joined us for the dinner (not the drinks).  A happy-hour band started to play and DD got super excited.  After each song she'd say "More! More!"  So all was good until after 11:30pm when I heard a weird noise through the baby monitor.  Poor Jelly Bean had puked all over.  I quickly bathed her while K changed the sheets.  Then around 1am she puked again.  Another quick rinse off and sheet change and it was back to bed.  One more round of puke at 2am and then everyone finally got some sleep.

Saturday - DD was fine so it was either food poisoning or a quick 12 hour bug.  We ran errands and accomplished little tasks.

Sunday - Our Easter morning consisted of us all going out for pedicures.  Jelly Bean sat on my lap during my pedicure, dunking her toes in the water and giggling.  The woman doing my toes was so sweet and included DD in all the fun (putting lotion on her legs, massaging her, ect.)  Since DD was sitting so well I had a manicurist file and clip her nails too.  She loved it!  We didn't paint her nails (just can't bring myself to do that when she is only 2) but she felt so special anyway.  She even put her hands under the nail drier as if she really had polish on.

adorable!!  What a sweet and special Easter memory!

The Easter Bunny brought RB her very first nail polish :)

  • The Easter Bunny brought E nail polish too!

Friday- I had off so dw I went to the outlets to look for graduation dresses.  It was a pretty crappy day for many reasons.  I came home depressed and with no dress.  DW and I did have productive talk but it still doesn't make the current situation great.

Sat-  Egg hunt at a friend's house and then hung out at home.  Dyed eggs and watched Hop.  Pretty mellow.  I assembled E's basket  and then off to bed.  DW did work while i chilled on the couch.

Sunday Easter basket with dw and E in the am and then off to my parents for another egg hunt and dinner.  Our plan was that E would nap in the car on the way but did not sleep.  So E skipped her nap which made for a very tired girl at the end of the day.  She did great though and loved the egg hunt.  I am so tired from the weekend and am struggling at school today.  It does not help that we have vacation next week. Need to find motivation.

  • Friday L and I had switched cars and I came home declaring she needed a new car (8y old Explorer, 132k miles, transmission kept slipping, guzzling gas on her 70m a day commute, etc) Spent the evening researching new/used car options - she wanted a hybrid.

Saturday - After the kids swimming lessons, we went to look at a Civic Hybrid. Test drove it and really liked it (L liked it better than her friend's Prius and we have a Honda dealer .5m from our house making repairs easier.) Went to drop off a bunch of donations, home to get L's truck, and back to the dealer to buy the car. Got home and I played with L's car - setting up the navigation, etc. Ordered pizza for dinner and watched DVR after the kids early bedtime.

Sunday - the kids were up bright and early to hunt for Easter eggs in the house and get their baskets. Went out to breakfast  with a friend and then tried to find a geocache. Spent 45m hunting and never found it. :( Went to a park since it was so nice and nearly got carried away by gnats. They were horrible! Went home and napped while the kids watched a movie, grilled out, and watched the new Showtime shows.

I am off of work today because the kids got an extra day of spring break because they didn't use a snow day. L decided to take the day off too. We have spent the day running errands, sitting at the car dealership, and going to the gym.

Our weekend was GREAT.  We did very little, which is exactly what I needed.

Friday - we both worked late (C for work work, me on interview follow up stuff), ordered pizza, and watched this week's Grey's Anatomy.

Saturday - I volunteered while C worked.  Got home around 1, ate lunch, took a nap while C finished up the manuscript she's been revising.  We went out for Vietnamese food in Little Saigon and to see the Hunger Games.

Sunday - relaxed in the morning.  Then I did C's taxes while she cooked me lunch and cleaned up around the house.  We met college friends of mine for dinner and had a nice time.  Came home, read, and went to sleep early.

Same sex couple TTC with donor sperm.  I am 35 and carrying.  Endometriosis and DOR.

  • Let's see if I remember... It's been that kind of weekend! Smile

On Saturday we headed over to the house, and I did some more work on his walls. I finished one of the walls (yay!) and have just a bit of one character to finish half of another wall. I also sketched another wall, and I think I'll be able to do that tomorrow in the late afternoon when J is with his nanny.

On Sunday, we went to church in the a.m. J went on his first Easter egg hunt! I didn't think he would know what to do. Boy, was I wrong... We had brunch at a place close to church (same place we had our wedding reception), and J enjoyed the live jazz band, as he always does when we go there. In the p.m., we went to IKEA to get the last couple of things for J's room. We also got in touch with a couple of possible renters for the condo - fingers crossed that it works!
