Morning Sickness Question

Hey all - So I've been lucky so far and haven't had morning sickness but I have felt extremely faint nausea from time to time. Nothing that makes me sick so I assume it may just be the stress for worrying!

So my question is - when you first started getting morning sickness did it hit you hard and fast or did it ease up on you?

Thanks in advance :)

Re: Morning Sickness Question

  • I have had four pregnancy's. Had morning sickness from the get go for the first three from the start and it would let up around 20 weeks or so. Last pregnancy never really any m/s just some food aversion's and little nauseau here and there. But the exhaustion is what got me with my last prenancy and that did not let up until I had her. Good luck!

  • I have constant morning sickness .... all day long. So I am so jealous of you!!! The first few weeks it was just a little in the morning, but once I ate something I was ok. But then one morning I woke up and I thought I was going to die!!! Good luck!
  • Once I was sick, I was sick. It hit hard  :(

  • Yesterday and today I've been having some significant nausea, and to points that I feel like I might through up (but haven't actually vomited.. just a little bit of dry heaving this am).  Before this, very mild nausea that I don't know if it was pregnancy related or not.  I've heard so many varying accounts, that there is no normal.  If you never have it, that's completely normal, if you have it really bad, it's completely normal too.  I'm reading a really good book right now, "Fearless Pregnancy: Wisdom and Reassurance from a Doctor, a Midwife, and A Mom" and it basically says that m/s is not an indicator of how healthy your baby is (although people will try to tell you it is!).

ETA:  Mine has been seeming to "ease in."  If I was having it before, it wasn't bad.  Yesterday only when I was in the car it was pretty bad (I don't usually have motion sickness either).  And then today it's been worse than it's ever been, but not horrible.  So maybe it will continue to get worse, but I really don't know!

  • It hit me at EXACTLY 6 weeks, and there has not been a single day I haven't vomited at LEAST once since then.  I've been on Zofran, which helps during the day, but insurance is a PITA so I can only get a certain number. Now the 'morning' sickness is returning in full-force at night, so I have to suffer through it, so I can ration the Zofran during working hours.

I'm hoping I"m about to turn the corner.

Hopefully it'll bypass you all together!!  Good luck :)
