Ugh LO fighting sleep, and she's like the walking dead

LO is fighting sleep at every turn.

She's refusing to take her naps. She's refusing to settle to sleep any earlier than her normal bedtime, and she's been waking early because of daylight savings ending.

As a result she's like the walking dead. She has dark circles under her eyes. She's constantly rubbing at her eyes, and gets to the point where she's staggering. Not to mention the serious meltdowns she'll have at the end of the day over the simplest thing.

I just don't know what to do for her. I give her every opportunity to sleep, or at least have quiet time in her room. I try and keep her routine very consistent. But she'll go quiet in her room, and I'll go check on her assuming she's asleep, and I'll find her talking to her teddy or looking at a book.

Any tips, suggestions or ideas. Or even just support

Re: Ugh LO fighting sleep, and she's like the walking dead

  • I wish I had advice but we're in sleeping hell right now, too. DS wound up making himself puke all over himself, his bed, and his dad because he was do upset about nap time. It's getting light in our room early- we need to get get new blinds but just don't have the extra cash right now. So, he's getting up about 1-2 hours early and is skipping naps. He cried on and off for 15 hours yesterday. Sorry to not have any good advice, but wanted to commiserate.

  • I'm right there with you and I need the support too...I'm glad we have each other but wish this hell would end. DD has been fighting naps ever since the paci went bye-bye 6 months ago.  She did fine with bedtime until pretty recently.  It's terrible knowing she isn't getting enough sleep and I feel like I've tried everything.

DD just weaned her dummy a couple of weeks ago too, I wondered if there was a connection.

LO is calm about going to bed at night, but just lies awake talking to her toys or kicking her heals on the wall.

I hate to say it, but it is nice to know other people are going through this too.

Hoping it ends for all of us soon!!
