The kids are off to bed, and DH and I are polishing off the wine we had with supper tonight (mmm, baked salmon), and since I'm bored, I thought I'd see if anyone had any good wine suggestions, post your favorites! I currently love Apothic Red, Cat's Pee on a Gooseberry Bush, Fat Bastard, and anything Zinfandel.

I'm more of a beer-drinker (and my last name is Beers--lucky!), but this is "sort of" wine country. My guy is a musician, so he plays a lot of wineries around here, so that's when we get wine.
I love several wines from this winery:

I'm in LOVE with the Viola V Cab Sauv, but I can't really afford it. (I get free glasses of wine while my guy is playing and a discount on bottles, but it's still out of my price range.)
He's playing this winery in a few weeks:

so if anything is phenomenal, I'll let you know.
This is only sort of related, but here's a winery I haven't been to, but I stalk their cooking blog:

Mac and cheese lover!
We have no shortage of liquor stores, so it shouldn't be hard to find. I'm not discriminating when it comes to anything with alcohol, but I'm far more picky about my beer and hard liquor tastes. Wine, there's just so much out there to try, and I'm in a wine rut.
Bear Creek should be easy to find. I'll have to have a look around for the others, I have a habit of returning back to Chilean, Australian and New Zealand wines. We tried some Wolf Blass private label at Costco yesterday, and it got me thinking that it's been over a decade since we've been to a wine tasting. There's a boutique liquor store near us that does this, and the store itself is huge, and the wine selection is to die for. Fortunately most of my favorites are under $30, but we've had two from there that were $45 and $130 that were amazing (but that's not always budget friendly).
