So I caught a little cold/bug and have the sneezes, mucus drainage, and a scratchy throat. I was wondering if I could take some dayquil(I want to avoid nyquil since I have to wake up every 3 hours).
Main ingredients are acedaminophen, dextromethophan HBr, and phenylephrine HCI.
The box says to ask health care provider before use if pregnant or breastfeeding. So it doesn't say I CAN'T, but I'd like to avoid a call the the after hour nurses for such a small question if I can.

Re: dayquil while breastfeeding
I was afraid of that. But I made it through an even worse cold med free while pregnant, so I'm sure I will survive.

Not all decongestants will decrease supply, Psuedoephedrine can but Phenylephrine does not. This Kellymom page has good info about BF and cold meds.
