Babies: 0 - 3 Months

anyone ready for another

baby? I have been since week one. I can't wait to be pregnant again and have another peanut!

Re: anyone ready for another

  • I am, but I'm waiting till DD turns one. I'm waiting mostly to let my body recover from c-section.

  • Yes!  I totally am!  Luckily though, I am EBF and have not gotten AF yet so i don't think itwill happen for a while.  While I'd love to have another right now, it's probably better for my sanity that it doesn't happen for another few months.

(And yes I know I can still get a pregnant without having AF, which is why I POAS every other week.)

  • Oh she is too cute, love your siggy pics :) I am and I'm not at the same time. I LOVED being pregnant and for some reason am missing it right now, guess b/c I was this time last year. But I know right now that we need to pay some bills off and enjoy Marissa, we plan on trying again next summer.
  • More power to you guys!  I can't even wrap my mind around getting pregnant or having another baby.  Question to those who are ready: did you have easy pregnancies/do you have mostly easy babies?  My pregnancy was pretty uneventful but overall I wasn't a fan.  And I love my DS but he isn't easy...
  • Nope. I am done. So very very done.

  • I am in theory.  I would love to have two close together.

In reality, however, its not a great idea for us.  DH needs to find a new job where he's happy and I need to finish my degree.

  • absolutely not!!   I just went to my pp checkup yesterday and first thing i asked for was birth control!!!!

I love my DD but i don't want to be pregnant for a while... and we can't afford another baby for a looong time

    This!

(that and I want a VBAC so it would be advantageous to wait until DS is 1 year to do so)

Apparently DH does not feel the same though. I threw up a couple times on Sunday night, crampy, etc. and I said if I didn't know better I might suspect I was pregnant. And then I said I would need to find myself a cliff to jump off of (I was kidding, simmer down) and he said, why would you want to jump off a cliff, that would be great!

  • Not ready yet (especially financially!), but I wouldn't be devastated if it happened! We only have a 1 bedroom apt, so we have to at least wait until we live somewhere with a bit more space. As for the PP's question, I did have a fairly easy pregnancy... I stayed very active (when you don't have a car, you have to be!) and only gained around 20 lbs, and I think it helped prevent a lot of the typical aches and pains.
  • After #1 came, I was ready for #2 when she was about 6 months old. We ended up having them 18 months apart. Now, although I do want a #3 someday, I don't anticipate being ready for at least a few years. Even if we did have the money to have a 3rd in the near future (which we don't), I wouldn't want one yet anyways because I am honestly feeling very overwhelmed at times with the 2. I love it, it is fun and challenging and I wouldn't have it any other way...but I just can't imagine adding another into the mix anytime soon. lol

  • Judah's - I did have an easy pregnancy, an easy delivery and Ella is a very easy baby. I am pretty sure all these things have to do with why I am ready again. Wink
  • I'm not "ready" but it wouldn't be a bad thing if I got pregnant!  It freaks me out though, because my doctor said I'd be high risk if I got pregnant within a year - since I had a c/s and I'm not fully healed inside!

  • I am because this one has been so easy! But I KNOW we can't get this lucky twice. We are financially sound, but I worry that if something were to happen, having two kids depending on us is a lot scarier than one.

I also wouldn't be devastated if this were our only one.

  • No. Don't know if I want a third. Being pregnant sucks and Ean is a high-maintenance baby. I am not even going to entertain the idea of #3 until he is potty-trained.
  • Not in the least.  My PG was easy and my baby is also pretty easy...and like someone else said, I can't be that lucky twice!  Plus, financially, its not in the cards right now.  Will wait at least another year.
  • Can I just say to everyone, enjoy this sweet time with your first baby.  It just isn't the same with the second one, with the first you can completely focus on the baby and give all of your attention to the baby. Not so much the second time around. I love having two kids but I hate that I feel like I can't give all of my attention to either kid.  Just enjoy that first year, it is an amazing time.  I don't think I appreciated it as much as I could have.

That said I missed the baby smell, the milky breath and the little newborn noises.... it is almost like a drug.  mmmmmmm babies are magnificent!  I'm going to miss that, this is our last baby and I'm trying to enjoy it.
