Creepy Coworker

I am a high school teacher. I just got the following message on facebook from one of my odd coworkers:

"This works my Dr told me and I do know from experience. You need to rub and tug your nipples and create a false nursing to promote labor and contractions, your husband can help....fun. You need to start 10-7 days before your due date. The delivery hormones are activated,a Native American tradition. The women needed to return to work in some traditions. Hope this is not too personal. Just smile when you see me in the hall."

Umm... thanks?!? WTF! You are so weird, lady. Who the heck tells their coworkers that sort of stuff? It's not like she's a close girlfriend at all. She's a 50+ year old. Weirdo.

  • Indifferent LMAO! That is a pretty strange message! "Just smile when you see me in the hall" kinda made it even more weird!

  • LOL, wow. if a coworker sent me an email about my nipples i dont know what i would think!
  • Fortunately, I never see her in the halls. THANK GOD. Otherwise I would turn around and walk the other way just to avoid eye contact. What I do to my nipples, never mind what my husband does to them, is none of her goddamn business.

  • LOL! If you want to try and creep her out, corner her and say "my nipples thank you." Of course, that might be a good way to get called to HR as well. ;)

  • Sounds like a moment from The Office or Office Space... What a total weirdo! "Hope this isn't too personal" - ummmm obviously! "Smile when you see me in the hall" wtf??? TBH - not only as a coworker, but as a mother I question as to whether she should be teaching. What a creep, guy or girl!
  • Ummm...female or not that is completely inappropriate. I would report this to a supervisor.

    ^^^Indeed - I second this

  • Well I can honestly say that's advice I actually did NOT get while pregnant!  That is way too weird, like I'd almost think someone hacked her account and messaged you weird!  I think I would have to message her back and be like why in the world would you send me this?

  • Super creepy. I would be appalled. BUT I have read this before so maybe it holds some weight lol. Does that make it appropriate? I think not.
  • What a weird (and poorly written) note. Tongue Tied

  • I am also a high school teacher, and sadly I can totally see this happening lol. Some of the teachers in my building have awkward social habits. I'd probably ignore it and act like you didn't get it. If she ever asks I'd say "I read it and got to the word 'nipple' and got a little grossed out so I deleted it".

  • She's a crazy, out there art teacher, so I'm not exactly surprised. I'm also the 5th teacher to have a baby in my school this year, so people have been used to seeing pregnant people and offering up any and all advice they might have. But it still makes my skin crawl that ANYONE would think telling that to a coworker would be anything but disturbing. Thank GOD I work with all guys in my department and the worst I have to deal with from them is the sarcastic name suggestions or them mimicking a whining baby as soon as I mention my maternity leave.
