I'm curious about an old wives tale. I know it's an old wives tale that girls give you morning sickness but boys don't but it seems true for everyone I know, including myself. I have a boy and haven't got sick once. Just curious as to what other people experience.
Re: morning sickness boy or girl?
Ditto
1st pregnancy not sick at all - boy
2nd pregnancy I have been sick the whole time - boy
I can't get the ticker to work, but I have two sons:
Baby RJ, born 1/25/2014
Formerly Twilightmv
With my son, I was sick at the same time everyday and vomited multiple times during those hours every single day from 6-15 weeks.
With my last pregnancy (a girl) I was nauseous all day every day, but didn't throw up everyday. This last from about 5 weeks until around the time we lost her at almost 16 weeks.
With this pregnancy (also a girl), it was pretty similar to the last girl. I still get nauseous at times, but not that often anymore.
So basically, I've been very sick with both boy & girls, but it was different kind of sickness with each.
IVF #1 - BFP (6dt)
Unassisted Pregnancy #2 - lost at 15w6d due to T21, severe heart defects, and fetal hydrops
I wonder why some people get so sick and others don't. Is it just luck?

With my son I had zero sickness. Awsome pregnancy.
DD, this time around = bad m/s. Bad everything. I hate this pregnancy.
med-free birth x2, breastfeeding, baby wearing SAHM
My BFP Chart
False. I never once had morning sickness and I'm having a girl.

same here, and I'm having a girl. I had mild nausea and terrible food aversions, but I only threw up twice. One time was because I gagged on some toothpaste and the other was because my blood sugar dropped too low, so I'm not even sure they count.
Definite old wives tale....I'm Team Green but had no morning sickness in first trimester. A bit into 3rd trimester I had waves of nausea.
Per my OB morning sickness has to do with your body's ability to handle the fluctuating hormones and has zero to do with the sex of the baby.
two boys - very sick both tims. in fact, i was sick for 16+ weeks with DS2!
Happened to be true for me. DD - sick in first tri, this time with a DS not sick.
I also fit the stereotypes/OWT for the way I carried. High and gained weight all over with DD, low and way more out front with DS.
Thanks, that's good to know. I wasn't sure why. But I know, it is just an old wives tale, I was just curious what other people experience.

LOL! Everyone can get morning sickness... that's the dumbest wives' tale I've ever heard.
I was throwing up like mad all through my first trimester & a bit into the second & it's been spotty in the third... I am having a boy.
1st threw up 1x = boy
2nd threw up morning, noon, and night for 9 months = boy
3rd was throwing up before the second line showed up on the pregnancy test, but it stopped after 1st trimester = boy
this one bad morning sickness until about weeek 24, now occassional nausea and vomiting still = No idea, umbilical cord was firmly between the legs at us.
Ok, ok. I was just seeing what others went through. Sorry.

DD Born 5.9.12
MC March 2016@8.5w
Expecting #2 4/30/17
Boys x3 - had m/s 1st rrimester-and felt great
Girl- still sick and almost 22 weeks.
For me true (mostly) not really sick, just didn't have an appetite felt slightly queasy. Did get sick one time.
For my friend totally wrong - she was really really sick (like couldn't work almost her entire pregnancy sick) and she had a boy
I had nausea and food aversions starting at week 5 and went until about week 15 or 16. I only threw up a few times, but hardly ate anything. We are having a boy.
