I'm watching Live with Kelly and they just taught me about poutine (spelling?) and all it's deliciousness. I have never heard of it before and now I'd like to hop a flight to Canada and eat some. Is it as good as it looks!?

Re: Dear Canadians...
Better!
It's like magic in your mouth.
French fries topped w/ cheese curds and covered in gravy. The gravy melts the cheese and it's just wonderful. Salty, fatty, bad-for-you wonderful.
Yes! But I find you need to be in the mood for it. It's heavy and greasy.
You can try making your own - just get some canned gravy and shredded mozza and it's a decent make-shift poutine.Though not as good as the "real" stuff.

That sounds so disgusting and awesome at the same time. I'm just couple hours from Ontario, who wants to meet me?
Cheese curds are different than cottage cheese...it's closer to little clumps of mozzarella cheese because it melts like regular cheese.

That sounds delicious. And also made me realize that I've never been to Canada! Need to add that to my bucket list:
-Visit Canada
-Eat delicious cheesey gravy fries
Ditto this. Nothing like cottage cheese. Not at all wet, and much bigger pieces. They also squeak against your teeth when you eat them plain.
Annnnnnnd, now I want to ditch my spinach salad and get poutine for lunch.
My favourite brunch place does a breakfast poutine. Fries, pulled pork, cheese curds, a poached egg and Hollandaise sauce. Omg so good.
What part of Ontario, we're a fairly sizable province.... But, I'm in! Poutine GTG!
I'm in mid-Michigan. I can make it to London in two and a half hours.
We spend a week in Nova Scotia every year (Cape Breton). DH's family is from there, and every year we must get poutine!
Hmmmmm, I can make it to London in about an hour..... and I have lots of family there..... rxbeth is in Windsor too.
I'm pretty close to there! (Relatively speaking in a country the size of Canada.) I'm in New Brunswick
Cape Breton is beautiful, I've been there a few times.

Wow, meanie!!! Those are all the things my dad brings us back when he visits his family....and cherry blossoms. My aunt makes the best buttertarts. I have a Dr appt today, I can't go pigging out on a million cravings...but thanks for that!!
Ashley, I've seen it on a few menus here. There used to be a restaurant named Poutine in the LES, but I think it might have closed. I know I had it somewhere along Smith St in Cobble Hill one night.
Oh ok! Then I might need to try this too!
We drive from Massachusetts to Cape Breton, so we spend some quality time driving through New Brunswick. It is such a beautiful province! One of the more enjoyable parts of our journey.
Yes! My best friend lives on Smith St and just informed me there is a deli near her that serves it. I know what I'll be having sometime this week for sure!
There's a bar here in Denver that serves this. Thanks for the reminder- we'll now be heading there this week:)
Ashley- my brother goes to Mile End Deli on Hoyt street for these ALL the time. He says it's fantastic - Go! Report back!
Yes this is the place my friend suggested! She's making me wait for her to go so we're going to go Thurs or Fri when she's working from home. Yumm!
Then you could be in Windsor within the hour? Seriously Costco here has some delicious poutine!
I'm in NB too woohoo! Poutine is not really my thing though.
They have them in Jersey as well, I personally like crunchy crispy fries, poutine is pretty soggy and unappetizing
Let's all do this! And WHY have I not eaten poutine at Costco before? OMG, it's like a 5 minute drive. Stupid, Beth!

Don't even tell me I miss some of that stuff so much!!! Every time I make a trip to Canada I buy some Ketchup chips, and come to think of it I haven't had a butter tart since I got married which is close to 3 years
I think that will be the order for food next time I go visit my family! As well as some Coffee Crisp chocolate bars, yumm!!
