2nd timers - S/o on howling toddlers

Do you ever have trouble not laughing at them when they are being soooo dramatic? Sometimes I have to turn my face away so he can't see that I am dying laughing over whatever fit he's throwing.  He's so gonna need therapy later.

    Yes. The version of Rumpelstiltskin that my grandma used to read to me when I was a kid ended with the little man getting so angry that he tore himself in half. That's exactly what I think of when DS gets really mad, a pissed off Rumpelstiltskin. He clenches his fists and screws his face all up and sticks out his chest and starts howling, and I always think, "yep, any minute now, he's gonna tear himself in half."

    All the time.  DH and I will look at each other and just bust out laughing. 

    There is a difference between real cries and the crocodile tears when he just wants something.  I don't feel bad laughing when he is just trying to manipulate me.

    Hee! I never feel bad laughing, but I try to hide it because it just makes him madder.

    When mine is throwing a fit over something dumb, I encourage her. I say things like "come on, is that all you've got? kick your legs harder!" or if she's doing the fake cry, I'll take her to the mirror and start making faces that mimic whatever face she's making, then she starts to laugh.
