Because I fall asleep in it all the time! I either fall asleep when holding E upright for his reflux or lately just holding him so he doesn't cry in his sleep. At this point a nice expensive comfy chair would've been worth it and we just have a basic padded one. Anyone fall asleep in their chair in the middle of the night?
Re: I wish I had a more comfortable glider
We actually have the spare couch in DS's room because we had to make room for the PNP in the living room. That thing is pretty darn comfy compared to the glider so I fall asleep in it all the time.
I don't think I've used the glider for anything but a stuffed animal holder since he was about 2 months old.
We have a rocker/recliner in DS's room, think lazyboy style. It's the most comfortable chair ever. Ds hasn't had a night feeding since he was about 7/8 weeks old, but before that I basically live in that recliner. When ds would fall asleep on me I would just recline it back and doze a little myself. I knew from my first that I wanted something more comfortable than the standard gluider in the nursery.
We got a cheap rocker/glider/ottoman combo. Yeah, it squeaks already and the padding is that cheap foam (which is already flattened by my fat azz).
We have an old recliner in the spare bedroom that I am tempted to swap out with my rocker. It may be TOO comfy. I would probably never make it back to my bed in the middle of the night if it was in the nursery.
