pretty charts don't mean anything, rinse, repeat

Going into this cycle I felt so much more relaxed, had no intentions of testing early and just wanted to wait it out. Dang it, I caved! Post-O temps look pretty dang good so I tested and of course BFN, so I will repeat to myself over and over today "pretty charts don't mean anything" and try to resume my calm, collected self.

ETA: my chart combined with the teensiest bit of brown spotting last night where the culprits!

    Look at my most recent chart - proof that a pretty chart means absolutely nothing. ETA: you're only 11dpo, still early.

    You do have a pretty chart. But thank you for posting this. I was just chart stalking everyone, and comparing my chart with others on FF. I'm early yet, but I'm sitting here telling myself that if my chart looks pretty I'll have an excuse to test earlier than I should.  Ugh...

    I was just thinking about this. Reading all the BFP posts I thought that most (like 99%) all thought that they were out for that cycle. Due to timing or OPK results or LP or whatever. 

    I just think that it is funny that most of the BFP's have a weird/ugly  cycle/chart.

    I did the same thing, I'm 9dpo. Its still early, so I don't think you're out yet!

    Ditto. My chart is always "pretty", but that's because I take progesterone supps.

    It's definitely true that they don't mean anything.   ...but man is it hard to remember that when it's yours that's pretty (especially when there is a different pattern)!  GL :)

    Thank you for posting - I am in a similar boat in that it is too early for me to test and I caved too - to BFN results. My chart isn't even that pretty yet!  So thanks for the reminder about this - and Shay I was chart stalking your chart too feeling happy then bummed for you. 

    I'm so bad I sit there over analyzing and comparing the current month's temps to those of my two BFO cycles....Ughhhh I know I should not be driving myself crazy.

    You're only 11 DPO. Why are you complaining about a BFN?

    TTC since June 2010.
    DX hypothyroidism, pituitary hyperfunction, and PCOS.
    On med/treatment break indefinitely. Not currently trying.

    Darn you pretty charts!!! Sweets, at least you felt more calm going into this one. I have had pretty charts too, and they do get ya when you think I won't give in.

    I agree with the missing info. and open circle comments..not so pretty.  As far as a pretty chart, I've seen them on here and they proved to mean just that..only a pretty chart.  Take a look at my last cycle, I did good for not testing.  GL to you!

    But, but- pretty.

    I don't get it.  What's so pretty about it? 

    Nothing in it is very consistent.  FF isn't entirely sure you O'd when it said you did.  You may have O'd later.  You didn't chart CM, your one secondary sign, consistently and there are quite a few missing temps and open circles.

    I feel like I must be missing something or seeing something different than everyone else.

    Betty and I both agree. I don't see the pretty.

    Ha, I didn't even look at her chart. But now that I did, I agree with you and Betty too.

    So true!  I tested at 10 DPO and got a BFN.  AF showed up today.  Pffft!
