Re: *****Pregnant After 35 Weekly Check-In*****
No new symptoms. I'm hanging out, impatiently/nervously waiting for our big ultrasound on Thursday. We are going to stay team green.
1st time mom: I am looking forward to buying a crib the most. Car seats, strollers, etc are fine, but it seems like there are so many choices to be overwhelmed by. The crib seems more fun to me, maybe because then I can really start designing the nursery around it. Choice 2 - a glider. I know, I'm goofy...
Looking forward to learning more about the essential gear!!

Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
I'm starting to have a little more difficulty finding a comfortable sleeping position. Luckily, I'm so exhausted by the end of the day it isn't a big problem. My back is also starting to feel the effects. A weekend with my no quite 2 y/o really takes it's toll.
Question of the Week (QOTW): This is one for the second time (or third or more) moms - What was your most useful piece of baby gear? What was that essential thing that made the first few months easier? And for the first time moms - What baby purchase are you most excited about? The My Lil Lamb Swing.- This was the only place my daughter would sleep besides a pair of arms for the first few months. And it was a great nap inducer/baby minder until she was 8-9 months. The day we took it down was a sad day indeed.

Still feeling pretty crappy - - very tired still and the nausea is still there. But I am happy to report the sore boobs are gone!
This is one for the second time (or third or more) moms - What was your most useful piece of baby gear? What was that essential thing that made the first few months easier? Probably my baby carriers. I had many (hand-me-downs from friends) and in the beginning the Moby-style wrap was a lifesaver. My baby would only sleep during the day if i was holding her. So I pretty much wore her all day long. (P.S. don't spend the money on a real Moby - - just DIY it with some jersey stretch fabric from Joann's - since all it really is, is a big piece of strecth fabric anyway. DIY instructions and wearing instructions are all over the web).
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
well ... you asked for it. i'm feeling like crap. the mild groin pain i had last week has now crept down my inner thigh. and i still have foot pain, so i'm walking like a 90 year old. it hurts, a lot ... and my husband is NOT stepping up to the plate. otherwise, i'm peachy keen : )
Question of the Week (QOTW): This is one for the second time (or third or more) moms - What was your most useful piece of baby gear? What was that essential thing that made the first few months easier? And for the first time moms - What baby purchase are you most excited about?our snap and go stroller frame got a lot of use the first year ... but i think what helped the most is having a big stockpile of the little things that are super necessary. for examplke, we registered for 3-12 packs of plain cloth diapers that we used as burps cloths, changing pads, general clean up wipes, etc. having so many meant we never ran out, and were never pressed to do laundry. i know this won't really work for folks who have limited living space, but if you have to leave your home to do laundry, it might be worth it ... and those plain cloth diapers can be used for so many things when you are done with baby. so that is my very unexciting, but very practical piece of new mom purchase advice. i am looking forward to buying this: https://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2002&e=product&pid=51903&ncat=thumbnail&pcat=bgb i have read so many amazing reviews on multiple shopping sites ...
No new symptoms, thank GOD. Just happy to be at the half way mark!
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
I'm feeling very pregnant and have started to waddle, waddle, waddle everywhere. I've slowed down quite a bit and get out of breath easily. All normal stuff. Until the last week or so, my belly just never really got in the way of anything that I wanted to do.
I fell over trying to put my nylons on this morning. I guess I need to sit for that now
lol.

What was that essential thing that made the first few months easier? And for the first time moms - What baby purchase are you most excited about? FTM here but I'm going to enjoy others' answers. I've already been very generously given a BOB stroller and was over the moon about that. I'm also excited to get a baby wrap because I think I'm really going to enjoy "wearing" my baby early on. Being that it is winter and really cold this far north, I think we will both enjoy it. Plus I've turned into a serious germ-a-phobe (I'm flat out rude to sick people that stop by my desk to tell me how sick they feel) and I think people will be less likely to touch/ask to hold baby when he is brand new if I'm wearing him. I won't mind the holding, etc...after a few weeks - just during whooping cough/flu season up here.~TTC since 01/09~

Hi Everyone - Happy Monday.
Updates: Celebrated my 37th birthday today with an early morning appointment to the Perinatologist and a surprise 3-D ultrasound! I can't believe how cute our little guy is (I'm sure every mom thinks that though). I feel more 47 than 37 though between being weak from bedrest and experiencing all the aches and pains of a growing baby boy who is definitely kicking and elbowing me alot harder and more frequently these days.
Question of the Week (QOTW): And for the first time moms - What baby purchase are you most excited about?
Everything is racing through my head - car seat, playard, stroller, monitor....But I think the one thing that will make me rest easiest is when we get the gates installed to create barriers between the baby and our dog's living space. He has not had experience with babies and has been less than friendly to children. Right now, I can't even imagine bringing our baby home without those gates for added precaution. Just another thing to add to the list of stressors

Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared? I still get tired every once in a while and will nap with my LO when I get a chance. I tested early for GD since I had it last time and it's back. Now I have to monitor a little more closely. NO meds, thank goodness. My back aches after chasing our little toddler around.
Question of the Week (QOTW): This is one for the second time (or third or more) moms - What was your most useful piece of baby gear? I loved my Boppy pillow. Having an exersaucer was great so I could do the dishes or even simply just to take a shower (I would put it near the open bathroom door) Loved the Moby wrap, too.

Due 24 Nov, naughty baby girl.
Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
Bub has turned breech - transverse. Bad bad bad bout of indigestion last night. Will be discussing with my dr today.
I also am getting moderate oedema (swelling) and have been told to put my feet up as much as possible now.
Tired but generally still pretty good.

Change table - saved my back
Fit ball- i used it to sit on and bounce and soothe my son to sleep when he got really unsettled and I couldnt pace the floor anymore
This time im looking forward to trying out a baby sling. I had a baby bjorn last time but want to try out the more natural style of the baby sling.

Updates: the morning/all-day sickness started; so far, just nausea. Oyster crackers are my friends!
Question of the Week (QOTW): This is one for the second time (or third or more) moms - What was your most useful piece of baby gear? The glider + ottoman. $50 on Craigslist, well spent.Updates: How are you feeling? Any events/news to share? New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
I am miserable. Period. I thought I was going to be able to continue working until I delivered, but boy was I naive. Maybe if I had delivered at 38 or 39 weeks. I can't sleep because my abdomen hurts and cramps up after sleeping for 30 minutes. I am exhausted!

FTM, but I am most excited about our Uppababy stroller! I can't wait to put her in the little bassinet and walk around our neighborhood.

team green all til the end!!
no new preg symptoms but started with a sore throat tonight at work. Killing me. Have to go to the store tomorrow and get some tyl cold/flu. Hope that's all it is. Will mention to dr tomorrow at appt just in case.
How are you feeling?
Really having a tough time with the RLPs. They have me up all night, because I just can't stay comfortable. Pretty tired as a result.
Any events/news to share?
Finally got to hear the heartbeat yesterday! And it looks like we'll have our a/s at some point in the next two weeks.
New pregnancy symptoms or any that have disappeared?
Other than the RLPs that go all the way down into my girly bits, nothing new.
Hello!
Got my BFP 10/6 but haven't been to the doctor yet. According to my calculations based on when LO was conceived I'm due between May28-June 2 2012.
Other than being a bit nauseous, this pregnancy is pretty different from the first. I already feel a weight and am starting to round out. With my first, i didn't look pregnant until I was 7 months along. Also, last time I was puking my guts out within an hour of eating anything. Now, I've only retched a couple of times when i needed to eat
Will you add me?

Still feeling great! Loving that my bump is recognizable as a bump now and now just bloat/fat! People at the office are making comments and it's fun!
I'm a first-time mom, so I'm looking forward to seeing what others post!
So much fun to see so many new check-ins!
Update - Flying these past two weeks made me swell up like a balloon. This didn't happen first tri or second tri, but now my feet barely fit in my shoes the day after a flight. I'm very glad that I only have at most 2 more trips left before I get grounded.
I had my GTT yesterday, so fingers crossed that I passed.
QOTW - FTM here. My first baby purchases were a Moby and an Ergo. I'm really excited about wearing my baby. And just last weekend I bought a Bumbo at a kids consignment shop. We won't need one for a while, but with the recall, I didn't want to risk it not being available when we wanted it.

Update: While I feel good physically, I found out that I have Factor V Leiden which increases the risk of clotting & possible MC. I have to go on an injectable blood thinner & tomorrow I get trained on how to give myself the shot. I'm upset about the shots, but relieved that they will help protect our baby.

I too am a second time mom, and the best thing that got me through the first couple of months surprisingly was a bouncer. My son just loved that thing and wore it out.
