TTC After a Loss

~?*??*?~ladies in waiting check in~?*??*?~

~*This post is for Monday April 2nd.  Please feel free to begin checking in now!*~

This is a group designed for all the ladies in the various stages of waiting after a loss: waiting to miscarry, waiting for AF to arrive, waiting to TTC again, and waiting for a BFP.   Since this process is such a true test in patience, it is nice to have the support and friendship of other women going through similar experiences and emotions.

Check in every Monday and Thursday.

New members: Post an introduction and your current TTC status and I will add you to the list! Welcome :-)

Current members: Post your updates, link to your chart, upcoming appointments, prayer requests, and if you get a BFP, please feel free to post here (along with your EDD).

There will be a question, a place for prayer request, and an inspirational verse.  We look forward to getting to know you!

Welcome to expatmama.  I am sorry for your loss and I hope you find comfort and support here.

8daysaweek- Sooooo I?m a pGal lurker and saw your announcement- congrats on your BFP!

GatorBaby2012-  Any reason why it takes so long on the karyotyping?  Also, was that done via b/w or a mouth swab test, or both?  I only ask because we?re doing a mouth swab test (in addition to the b/w) called COUNSYL.  We?re not cycling with the RE again until we get these results!

Mom2anAngel2-  Sorry you felt your safe place has been compromised.  I worry about this too sometimes.

Question of the day:  With the warmer weather approaching what will you do to prep your winter feet?  Get a pedi or self paint?  What colors?

  • Update:  I'm in the 2ww... I think I O'd on my own on CD 15 (about a week early for me when unmedicated) and we had awesome timing.  Since our loss was so early we didn't have any restrictions and my early O absolutely caught us by surprise.

QOTD:  I give myself pedicures because I hate going to get them done.  I have a ped-egg type thing, exfoliators and lots of French manicure type colors.  I'm able to do this very well on my toes, but not on my fingers!  I will be fixing up my toenails this week!

  • Update: I have made my appointment at my new doctors office. I go to see a midwife on the 19th for my annual exam and then I get to talk to my new doctor about a treatment plan. I am currently CD14, tomorrow CD15. So if my body is working like it should I may have O'd today or tomorrow. So now I am just waiting to see my doctor lol.

QOTD:  I always take care of my feet so I have no foot Spring cleaning lol but I did just paint my toes a peacock blue with silver crackle on top.

  • Hi ladies!

Update:  *Still* waiting to O.  Work and TTC this cycle has been so, so, so, stressful, and I think I scared O away.  I'm hoping it will show soon -- please send O dust your way!

BEB, I am impressed that you can give yourself a french manicure on your tootsies -- I can't ever seem to get a nice smooth coat on myself, so I am definitely planning to get a mani/pedi this week in celebration of spring break and the upcoming sandal season! :)

  • Back in the 2ww.  I believe I am 4DPO.  This is my first cycle with acupuncture and progesterone.  Let's hope one or both of them does the job.  I'm hoping the 2ww goes quickly.  I have a ton of work to do this week and this Saturday we're planning on going to NYC for the day just to eat some Ethiopian food.  Yum!

QOTD: No self-pedis here.  My feet take a beating from running so I need professionals to do the dirty work.  I tend to like dark colors because they seem to last longer or at least look decent longer.

  • Update:  My doctor called Tuesday and let me know that it appears that our loss was due to a maternal factor, which is good given the circumstances. The course will be to TTA this cycle and try next cycle. Lovenox shots daily once we (FX) conceive.  Waiting to O now so I can get this cycle out of the way.

QOTD:  I get pedis every 4-6 weeks in the winter and at least once a month in the summer. I wear a lot of open toed shoes and love to go barefoot, so it's necessary!  I've been leaning toward greens, purples, blues and grays lately. My hues are lliking more like Easter eggs the last couple times. I'm sure they'll keep getting brighter and brighter as the weather gets warmer!

  • Hi ladies. Not much to report here. I think maybe I finally O'ed yesterday. Still not holding my breath but really hoping so b/c it would be CD22 vs. CD24 last month, so an improvement. Very annoyed though at all the random cramping, nausea, etc. I'm having. If I do O earlier, I'm hoping that is my body finally straightening out some.

FX for you BEB! That is awesome to O early on your own!

QOTW: I actually got a pedi last weekend. It was a treat for myself after my big work event and only the 2nd one I've had since I burned my foot a few years ago (horrible fondue accident...hot peanut oil and we were totally sober). So def. a really nice treat to get a pedi. :)

Update: I'm on CD6. AF just moved out and now I'm hanging out and waiting to O. I feel like I'm in a very weird place now. Sometimes I feel like I have no where to turn to. Everyone here is just awesome but I don't yet feel like I belong. I know it just takes time and posting and becoming part of the community but I'm not there yet.

  • Update: I am in the 2ww but not very hopeful this cycle. We were only able to BD on day CD10 & CD15 because I was out of town. FF says I O'd on CD14. Bummer. The rose bush we planted for our LO after our loss has its first full bloom, so that is our excitement right now! Picture below. Oh and I have been inspired to start blogging.

With the warmer weather approaching what will you do to prep your winter feet?  Get a pedi or self paint?  What colors? I have not had a pedi in a long time, but am going to the spa for my birthday on Thursday and decided to treat myself. I would make a mess if I tried to self-paint. I don't know what color I will get...a pretty pink maybe?

I have 4 days left before the break and am going to chillax.  I had a fluke temp of 97.29 this AM and thought for a second that I was finally gearing up again.  I temped again and it was back to the flatline of 97.51.  Pfft.

I do my feet myself. I have a foot soak tub and use Body Shop pedicure products. They are great! I paint my nails with OPI polish.  Usually a soft pink or a fiery hot pink.

From what I understand, it's a more complicated blood test to analyze the actual chromosomes. I'm also limited on which lab I can use and be covered under insurance. Mine was done via b/w, several tubes for me, one tube for DH. I hope to get those results in the next week.

Update: still TTA-ish. And by "ish", I mean that we DTD once after I got all hot and bothered reading Fifty Shades of Grey. PSA - don't read that book if you're TTA. Physically I don't need to TTA, but logically/emotionally we are just until we get the last of our results in. I'm a little embarrassed by it.

Question of the day:  With the warmer weather approaching what will you do to prep your winter feet?  Get a pedi or self paint?  What colors?

I treated myself to a much needed and much deserved pedi last week before. I got a mauve color since I was going to a wedding. Otherwise, I like fun colors. My fav is a robin-egg/Tiffany's blue color.

My BIL has Menieres Disease, I've seen first hand how difficult it can be!  How were you able to get it under control?  I know my BIL takes supplements but I'm not sure about an Rx.  I'm glad you're healthy now!

If you don't get AF in two weeks, I would call your doctor.  I would actually even call next week to schedule an appointment for the following week that way you're at or near CD 60 with no AF.  Your doctor should give you a Rx for Provera at that point!  GL to you Smile

  • Good Morning! I am waiting for AF to arrive. Today is CD24 and if she holds off until tomorrow I will have had a twelve day LP. This will be my third cycle in a row with a 12-14 day LP which makes me very optimistic about starting to TTC again. Next cycle will be my last TTA cycle, so my goal for April is to live as healthy as possible while I prepare to TTC. QOTD: In the spring I do a combination of doing my own nails and getting pedicures. I will be going in for a pedi with my mom next week while she is on spring break.

  • I'm currently in the 2WW but it's not looking good. I'm not even bothering to test this cycle because my chart is so craptastic. I wish AF would wait a few more days since I've had LP issues before, especially right after my first loss. But it's looking like it will most likely come tomorrow. Oh well, at least I have my appointment with MFM in 2 weeks to go over results from my bloodwork.

QOTD: I practically live at the foot doctor so I hate my feet. If anything, I'll paint my toenails, but I never go for a pedicture.

update: m/c bleeding over, now waiting to see what happens with my cycle. DH wants to get right back to trying (we've been given the semi-ok with doctors - they pretty much said waiting a cycle makes it easier for them - for dating and tracking the next pregnancy, but won't have an effect on our outcome ), but I've got mixed feelings. So right now I am just waiting to O or see how this cycle plays out. I don't temp, but in the past I have always had very obvious O, migraines followed by spotting and a ton of cm mid cycle and a weird weight fluctuation that only lasts 2 days. I'm curious to see how it will be now.

QOTD: Where I live in Europe pedis cost a small fortune and are not really something people 'do.' I am terrible at painting my own nails, so usually only have one if I am stateside in the summer. I keep things trim and tidy, but otherwise I don't really bother.

Glad the m/c bleeding has stopped!  I waited after all of my losses except this last one (it was a week earlier and hCG never rose over 16.9).  If you're concerned, I recommend maybe waiting.  I know there's been ladies who have tried again right away (cleared by doctor's or not) and then had another loss right away.  It's really a personal choice.

How cool you live in Europe!!!  I love giving myself pedicures, but sometimes it's truly a hassle.

I'm still waiting for AF, but I'm only 12 days post D&C so it's still way early.  My f/u appointment is one week from today and I'm both nervous and hopeful (hopeful that my HcG levels are dropping and everything is healing properly).  I'm very much looking forward to hitting that two week mark.  I want a hot bath and I want sex! ;)

QOTD: I am really bad about feet.  I never spend the time or money to go get a pedicure.  However, I do pummice religiously year-round and I'm a moisturizer junkie so my feet aren't THAT bad.  I keep an understated light pink polish on my toes at all times because whenever a flip-flop day strikes I jump at the opportunity!

I hope your appointment goes well next week!  LOL @ hot bath and hot sex... I think we ALL can appreciate that! Wink

Update:  I am still in the 2ww.  I had an aweful weekend, and spent most of the time crying.  I am not really sure why, but I think my stress level, being in the 2ww coupled by my impending EDD, has just been out of control.  I told DH last night that I just need a break.  He was kind of cute, bc he had a paniced look on his face and asked me if I wanted to TTA for a month or two.  I told him that I did not want to TTA, but really just feel like I need to get away from all of the pressures from family and friends (he was so relieved...LOL).  We are thinking about planning a vacation or even just a weekend get away.

QOTD:  I usually do my own toes, but I am considering going for a pedi (just to treat myself).  I was supposed to get a massage las weekend, but I got sick and had to cancel.  I think I could use some pampering.

Hello ladies! BIG HUGS to all of you.

QOTD: I get a pedi every now and then. Most of the time I do it myself. I'll wear all kinds of colors.

I can't bold on this dumb iPad, but it makes me sad for you today you feel like you don't quite yet belong. I think BEBs advice to keep posting and it will come in time is good advice. Feel free to PM me at any time. HUGS.

  • Update: I'm sitting on the beach decided to lurk for the first time in a couple of days. I saw LIW, and as this is my "group" that I belong to, I had to post. Nothing new here....again....on day 4 of Provera trying to lure AF out of hiding. Enjoying this much needed vacation with my family and DH!

QOTD: I sometimes will go to have a pedi done with my BFF, but hate spending the money. Otherwise, I'll do it myself....I like to think I do a pretty good job! Usually OPI or Essie polish in a red or brighter pink/coral.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!! FX for everyone in the 2ww, waiting to O, or waiting for AF!!

Update: I am in the 2ww but not very hopeful this cycle.

I have been inspired to start blogging too!! My DH and I were just talking about this last night! I am not all that technologically advanced, so he is going to help me get started....but if anyone has any suggestions, I would welcome them!!

Shades of Grey.....yay!!!! How are you liking it?? When I first started it had the same effect on me....DTD quite often!!

  • Thank you BEB and Megan for your kind words. I'm sure it will work out and I'm not about to leave. There was an incident on Friday in another group that was not healthy and I am very hurt. So now I think I'm just feeling out of place. I'm just feeling very fragile right now and I'm not used to feeling that way.

I understand how you feel too. Sometimes I feel like I fit in and other times I don't. I have just chalked it up to being in a group of many women and try to not take too much to heart. There's a lot of hormones and emotions here (not meaning this in a negative way, just in an empathetic way, please I hope no one takes offense to that statement). You do belong here, though, and I hope you can find comfort here. I am here if you ever want to PM as well. ((hugs))

Shades of Grey.....yay!!!! How are you liking it?? When I first started it had the same effect on me....DTD quite often!!

Loving it! I secretly want to go home sick so I can keep reading. LOL. I'm about 70% through the first book. It's a lot steamier than I expected, but that's a good thing! Just when it starts to do down a path where I anticipate something offensive, it diverts to something funny or romantic, which keeps me interested.

I love that you secretly want to go home sick to read - I am the same way! So much so, that I bring m iPad to work and read on my lunch sometimes - it feels so wrong to read that at work, but oh we'll! Glad you're loving it! The 2nd gets so much better...can't wait for your get there!

  • Hi ladies! Still kind of new to the board, and this is my first LIW check in. I also feel kind of in limbo, community wise. I know it takes time. I am also bumping from an iPad so pardon the formatting. I'm currently on CD 28 (16 dpo) of my first cycle post M/C. I plan to test tomorrow if AF doesn't show. No feelings either way, really. QOTD: I get pedicures pretty regularly. I love classic red, but right now I have a pretty coral bc I'm at the beach! :)

I do my feet myself. I have a foot soak tub and use Body Shop pedicure products. They are great! I paint my nails with OPI polish.  Usually a soft pink or a fiery hot pink.

Lucky on the soak tub!  I would LOVE one.  My 'soak tub' is plugging the shower drain while I'm in the shower and doing my pedi afterwards Embarrassed Ha!

The tub is basically a dish washing tub.  I got it as a package with Body Shop pedicure products.  You can just buy an ordinary dish washing tub and use it primarily for foot soaking.

I just went to Blogspot.com and it was fairly easy to set up. I actually set up three - one for this journey TTC, one as a teacher and one as a traveler.  I like it, but am having trouble figuring out what to write about and how often. GL with your blog!

I have posted a lot over the last 1.5 months, but I also feel like I don't always fit. I feel okay on the LIW and September Check Ins....but don't feel like I "know" that many girls.
