When to order baby furniture?

Hi ladies, I'm popping in from 1st tri with a question. A couple of friends have told me that it takes awhile to get the baby furniture in, so when is a good time to start ordering baby furniture? TIA!

I believe I was 22w when I ordered and got it by 26w.

My set was backordered though, so I knew going in that it might take awhile.

We ordered our crib/dresser around 16 weeks and received it around 22 weeks. But, we were told that the specific furniture we wanted would take about 10 weeks to get, so it came in earlier than we expected. I am glad it is setup and in the nursery now, and I still have a ton to do to get LOs room ready.

I was about 24 weeks when I ordered our furniture. I didn't have an ultrasound until 20 weeks, and personally wouldn't order any until you have that diagnostic ultrasound.

They said it would take 12 weeks but both were here by 8 weeks.

We ordered our furniture and started setting up the nursery after our A/S. I wouldn't set it up any earlier than that, in case you got bad news at the A/S, but I also was very glad to have it all done by the time I started the 3rd tri, just in case baby came early. It took away a lot of stress knowing we were ready anytime.

We just got ours 3 weeks ago, it was only a week and a half before we got it. We are kind of late compared to others, but worked out fine for us.

Everything took about a week. We ordered our crib from Walmart and got it within a week. Bedding from PBK, Book shelf from Target. We bought her dresser/changing table at a garage sale.

I WENT Out and bought my crib & changing table at 32 weeks & my step dad & I brought it home that day. We put it together today ( im 33 weeks).

Our furniture was delivered a week after we ordered it. It just depends on what you like. I'd suggest looking once you're past the 20 week mark.

My IL's are getting our crib, and they haven't ordered it yet. They said they'll order it in April. So I'm hoping that it gets here before LO arrives. But if it doesn't ... he's going to be sleeping in our room for a little while anyways.

I'm with the PP. Our parents have said they want to get the furniture. Our showers for both sides of the family are in 2 weeks (I'll be 37 weeks). We're assuming that is when we'll be getting it. Luckily, 1 crib and 1 dresser isn't too much to put together. We already have our Rock N' Play Sleeper which is where LO will be sleeping at the beginning anyway.

We ordered ours online from Target- line is also sold at BRU but was WAYYY cheaper at Target. It took about 3 1/2 weeks for it to come in. We set it up after we painted the room at 26 weeks.

We ordered ours in January and are still waiting on one item! The sooner the better unless you are getting something you KNOW is in stock.

We ordered ours in January and it's still not here! The baby will sleep in the PnP in our room, but we can't really start working on the nursary until we get the furniture in there. So if you know what you want, I say order it early.

Depends on where you order from. I was set on a crib from a local store who is known to quote 8-12 weeks but is really 16-20 weeks. I was calling them DAILY and they delivered on the 12th week (I also threatened to dispute the charge while I was w/in my 90 days)

Check yelp for reviews. Most stores that have bad reps about stuff like that usually have enough warning signs/bad reviews.

We ordered our furniture from Behr's on February 5th (29 weeks)... we are STILL WAITING (I'm 37 weeks + 3 days). They say it should come during the 2nd week of April and that they'll call to set up delivery after they receive it. Awesome - I'm due April 20th and pretty sure everything will just land on the same day.

I wish we had ordered it sooner! So I'd say give the furniture at least 12 weeks to arrive. Good luck!
