Re: FFFC

  • I was listening to Howard Stern on the way to work one day this week (I guess that's a confession in itself!) and they were talking about how they all downloaded the Ugly Meter app and were comparing their scores.  So of course I had to download it myself and see where I rated...lol!  What am I in middle school?  MH did it, too...heehee!

....On Monday.... I clogged one of the toilets at work...and didn't tell anyone. The sad thing is... The person that handles the calls regarding that is my mom, so I shouldn't have been that embarrassed to report it.... About an hour later I guess someone else reported it because I heard the call on the 2-way radio for someone to check it out..... And then they reported it back that they couldn't get it unclogged and maintenance would have to work on it. SurpriseEmbarrassed

Thank you for a "spit out my water all over my monitor," laugh-out-loud moment this morning.  That story was truly hilarious.

Hahaha, I just had to do it too. I did a few times and kept getting different scores. It's a funny app!

Oh, I've been there too. I got irritated because I told MH his lunch was sitting on the counter (he leaves just a few minutes after me).... I get home and low and behold there sits his sandwich and veggies... I commented that I take it you forgot your lunch. And he said yeah.... I said that sucks because now it's spoiled.... His response, I'll eat it now. Ick!  Deli meat sitting for over 8 hours on a counter, no you won't!

One day this week my H left half of his foot-long tuna sub on his desk at work and he ate it for lunch the next day!  Tuna...mayo...on his desk...for 24 hours.  He lived to tell me about it.  Double Ick!

It must be a guy thing. MH seriously doesn't care how long foods been sitting out....how old leftovers in the fridge are.... I'm sure in the future he'll die from food poisoning or something! Confused

My H is the exact opposite.  He's hyperparanoid about expiration dates and how long things have been left out.  I have to assure him multiple times that dip that's been in the fridge for 1 day is still good or that he can drink milk 2 days before the expiration date (shoot- I've been known to cook with it after the exp. date sometimes, too).  It's almost to the point of ridiculousness.  If something is getting close to the date, like sour cream or Ranch (or even milk), I'll use it anyway and bury the container in the trash- because if I don't bury it, he'll check and not eat dinner.

DH freaks about the milk.  I keep reminding him that it's a Sell by date, the milk doesn't sudden go sour on that day.  However, that rarely works and he won't touch it.  Although I understand why, when he was a kid he drank sour milk by accident...

My confession is that although I love all of C's bathtime pictures, I was disappointed it won the challenge vote.  I'm still going to put up C's Easter pictures in the bluebonnets as my April siggy.  I've been looking forward to having a baby to shove in the bluebonnets for years now :)

**Non-Texans- Bluebonnet is the state flower of Texas.  For about a month every year, the sides of the highways are lined with patches of them.

I'm going to take some bluebonnet shots this weekend I hope!! :) haha we should have added our own category for april siggy voting!

Right?  We have enough Texas moms to have a good showing  :)  Maybe a thread to show off those cute BB pics.  I'm hoping it's not so muggy- we're aiming for tomorrow morning.  Then I think we're going to Canton.  You and Lexi (James, too) are welcome to come this way.  Utilize my photographer hubby then look for a personalized tin pail for C's Easter basket in Canton.

Are there any traditions like that in other states?  BB pics are a MUST here.  You see kids in Sunday best pulled over on the side of the road all the time.

  • I am planning to report my neighbors to the building code enforcement next week.  Their construction guy wanted to by my car for $1,000 less than what we are asking and we turned him down.  When the car is only worth $5,000, taking that much off is asking way too much.  Anyway, since then, all three of our cars have been keyed.  I'm pretty certain it's them since we are the only ones who have been affected.

ETA: THey are doing some major construction work without permits and it's the permit department who will get the call.  Our city is super strict about permitting and cause major reconstruction to happen when work is done without a permit.

Why? Why do they do things like this. So gross. DH is such a picky pants about most things, but he will eat some pretty nasty stuff if it is food he really wants.
