Suggestions for gift for 1st b-day?

My niece is turning one in May and seeing that my LO is only three month behind her, you think I would know what to get her, but I'm really not sure.

What have been some of your LO's favorite toys recently? I'm not planning on spending a lot, so I'm aiming between $20-30. TIA.

When both my nieces turned one I bought them cute outfits. For my LO I bought him 2 outfits, pjs, toddler crayons and a happy birthday coloring book.

I bought my nephew Smurf slippers..which he loved and a plate and silverware set. Everyone else bought him clothes so it was nice that he got something other than that.

You could pick a theme of something and get it all to match like dora silverware, plate, cup and pjs and a toy or something like that. Just an idea.

I always recommend the Fisher Price Stack & Roll Cups. It was my DS's favorite toy he got for his 1st bday. Only $10 though so you might want to combine this with something else.
