Babies on the Brain

Ahh, that felt good.

I just intentionally pushed the "pay current balance" on the first credit card to be paid off! And then I pushed the authorize button! WOOT WOOT! I'm so excited that it's ridiculous. Now I need to put the card away so we can't use it. The second one should be paid off in April, and then 2 in May. :D

Sidenote: I pushed that pay current balance button once by accident. It was a terrifying few minutes until I figured out how to cancel the payment.

  • Hooray! I'll bet that's an awesome feeling.

When I paid off my student loan I happy-danced all over my house for ten minutes. It was awesome.

  • That's awesome! We did that when DH was deployed and it was awesome.  We use one for travel and one to move so we have to do it again but we'll do it soon!

ETA - Our bank allows you to apply for a car loan online. I just wanted to check interest rates and see if we could get approved for the amount we wanted. We got approved for $50K(way more than we needed) and when I clicked back to my account main page, it showed we had a $50K loan. I freaked out and called my bank hysterical. She said if we didn't use it within 30 days, it would go away. So, I've been there. :)

  • I wonder how long it'll take for the payment to show up. I really really want to see that zero in mint.com.

Ours took about a week actually. Just because they want to make sure it goes through. It showed up on the credit card about 3 days after it was made, on the credit limit, and came out of our account a couple days later. The actual balance reflected $0 a day later.

And I hit that button once too, lol. I thought I would throw up.

I understand needing to make sure it goes through, but I'd really like to experience the high of seeing that $0. Hopefully they'll be quick about it lol.

  • DH and I are both working 2 jobs to get out of debt. If nothing changes (good or bad), we will be out of CC debt on Nov 9, 2011. At that point, I am going to decide if I can continue to handle working ~70hrs/week. If I do, the car and student loan will be paid off by Valentine's Day next year, and we will be completely debt free.

I just figured out how much longer it would take to pay off the car and student loan if I stop job #2 in Nov. It'll change the theoretical pay off date from Valentine's Day to 3-29-13. Seeing that makes me think that it's quite likely that I'll be done working 2 jobs in Nov. :D

All of this is just on paper though, so of course things could change.
