Anyone else going to be moving before baby arrives?

I feel like we are overwhelmed. I have my NT Monday, praying for good results...then we have to find a new place to live. We own our current apt, and have to decide if we want to sell it, and buy a new place...or rent it out and rent a place for ourselves.

DH is stressed. Buying an apt in manhattan is a big undertaking, there are board approvals and lots of stuff that take months. If we rent out our apt, we have to be landlords, which I'm not keen on.

All this needs to happen in the next 3 months, bc summer is the big season for availability here. I'm just dreading it. It's going to suck, be expensive, and be stressful. I feel stressed enough already. And then ill have to move, hugely pregnant. Just feeling overwhelmed at the prospect.

I'm in the same boat and my NT on Monday too! We're having a real estate agent come to look at our townhouse tonight. I told DH that we need to be in something by September because I don't want to be dealing with moving that close to my due date (10/13) and I'd like to be somewhat settled before the baby comes as well. So we need to get the house on the market now. I'm really freaked out!!!!!

We've been wanting to move for a while, but with another one on the way, we need more rooms - so we can't wait anymore. Our current place only has 2 bedrooms upstairs, and I'd hate to put DD (she's 3) in the same room as a toddler. So to add to the whole moving thing, I'm worried about how DD will handle it and a new baby!

We are getting ready to list our house on the market in April. No telling how long it will take to sell, but I'm hopeful it will sell by the end of the summer so we can find a new place well before LO is due. I hate all the stress involved with moving and buying/selling property. I am not looking forward to it at all!

We will be. Luckily we are renting, and will continue renting, so don't have to deal with he hassle of sellilng and buying. We are currently in a 2 bedroom, and I would like three, so we have space for a nursery and an office/guest room. We've been holding off, since our rent will obviously increase, and we wanted to be as sure as we can be that we won't be needing that money for fertility treatments!

We're not moving houses, but we have some major renovations that DH thinks we need to have done pre-baby, including gutting our finished attic and one bathroom and turning the attic into a new master suite w/ bathroom + fully re-doing the existing bathroom.

DH thinks he can DIY in three months. His last "three month" project was started last Memorial Day and still isn't done.

We are. We actually bought a house on 12/30 and on 1/4 4 pipes burst and the house is basically now gutted and cannot be lived in. Insurance finally just agreed to settle, but the contractor can't start without the $, which we don't yet have. I am hoping we will be in the house by 8/1 because these babies are due 9/14 but will most likely be born in August. So we will need to pack up our condo and move into the new house right around when the babies will be here. Fun times!

We are renting, lease is up in November. I am expecting them to raise our rent to a point where it's silly for us to stay. Ideally I'd like to try to buy something before the baby comes but I don't know how realistic that is.

Not really a stress any of us need right now!

I know, rents are crazy now. Good if we rent out our current place, but hurts us to rent. We looked at buying again, but so stressful w selling our current place.

Its completely overwhelming!

We are in the process of selling our home - closing set for 4/30 (fingers crossed that everything goes through!!). Then we'll be moving into a temporary apartment while we build our new house. It should be done by September/October at which time we will move yet again! Thankfully we will only be moving bare necessities to the apartment so we won't have to move everything twice. I'm kind of over the moving right now, I'm more worried about this house deal going through.

we are putting our condo on the market and moving in with the IL while we look for a house. hopefully the condo sells quickly so we can get through these transitions.....

we've had a house offer in the process foreverrrrrr....we are currently renting an apartment, and we put an offer in on a house back in early fall, and are STILL waiting...it's a short sale, so we know it's a process...so we may be moving before or with our luck, with a newborn infant LOL

but if this house falls through, we plan on making another move soon, we don't want to stay where we are for long, our neighbors aren't very courteous, they are smokers, and our apartment constantly REEKS of smoke, not a place i want to keep baby.

i am stressed just thinking of moving with a newborn, but we need to get out of here!

Ugh, I can't imagine moving while pregnant. I feel for you, V.

We aren't moving but we are doing some major renovations before the little guy gets here! DH just put in a new floor in the nursery, and this weekend he's doing the hallway and living room. We have so much to do and our deadline is fast approaching!!

we talked about it because our house only has two bedrooms and we are having twins. but to sell our house in this market with the work we still need to finish was just unrealistic. so we will re-evaluate when they are a year. we figure for the first year we are going to be pretty attached anyway so it wasn't really necessary to rush things. nyc i'm sure is a completly different market, probably much more difficult.

We put our townhouse on the market the same day we got our BFP (coincidence - not on purpose) so we're hoping that sells - so we can look at a single family house. Crossing our fingers and our toes! I do understand about moving while hugely pregnant - I dont want that either - but if I have to, Ill suffer through it.
