...with my new OB!
Seriously. In love. He was soooo patient and compassionate--and NOT rushed. He took a look at the test results from the panels my old OB ran. He disagreed with her that there's any reason to wait a month before retesting my Protein S levels. He said it's only SLIGHTLY low, and he's 95% sure that's because I was pregnant when the sample was taken. He ordered a retest for today, and he said he'll be shocked if it's not back up into the normal range by now.
He said that judging by my bloodwork and his 22 years of experience, if he had to guess, I was the victim of bad luck twice. He went on to say that he understands that's not an answer anybody wants to hear, so he ordered some more testing (thyroid and progesterone) to make sure there are no problems there.
He said that if I felt more comfortable with an RE, he would refer me to one today. He said he truly believes that would be jumping the gun, but he'd be more than willing to do it, because he knows how frustrating all of this is. My gut told me to decline. I think I trust this guy.
He said to keep taking my prenatals and to start taking 2mg of folic acid and a baby aspirin now.
So yeah. No answers yet, but I have a good feeling about this dude.
::goes off to sit back down on the TTA bench::
Re: I'm in love
I'm so glad it went well and you felt like he really listened to you.
I am curious how you went about finding him... did you get a referral from ppl you know? Did you just call around?
He's my fairytale, a dream when I'm not sleeping.

Yay! I never got around to wishing you luck this morning, but obviously you didn't need it! What a great doctor!
I know you still didn't get answers, but at least now you have a good doctor on team Panacea. So glad!
Love me some good news.
You won't be on the bench long!
We lost our first (EDD 07/23/12) after finding out at 12 weeks there was no longer a heartbeat. Our rainbow was born 05/22/13 and was worth all we went through.

Yippee!! Having a doctor you trust is so important in this process. I know you didn't get answers, but just having someone who's willing to listen and explore every option with you has to be a weight lifted off your shoulders.
Hope you can come off the bench soon!

It's a bittersweet club to be in, and I wouldn't wish it on anybody--but it's nice to know I'm not alone.
bump burp
I called the main hospital around here (Cleveland Clinic--it's giant), and asked if they could point me in the right direction. It just so happens that this guy had a cancellation today--AND his office is 2 miles away from my house. Fate?
This is up in the air. DH says another loss would kill him, so if everything comes back normal, he'd really like to go see an RE. I'm torn. What if we end up going to an RE, who also finds nothing, and we waste a bunch more time? Oy.
