I've been a bit M.I.A since the girls have been born but hopefully we will be settling into some form of a routine so I hope to be on more soon!

Madelyn and Allison were born on February 28, 2012. Madelyn was born first at 6:36pm and Allison at 6:37pm. They both weighed in at 5lbs 12 ounces exactly.

We are completely in love with them but also completely overwhelmed with caring for 2 infants! Every day gets a little better and everyday we learn something new

Mia Elise was born on March 20, 2012 at 11:46 pm (a week and 1 day early). I went in for my regular ob appointment and weekly non-stress test (high risk pregnancy) when they decided to send me to the maternal fetal specialist for an ultrasound (the non-stress test results were a bit wonky and they wanted to get more info). I went to the specialist (which I also went to on a weekly basis to get ultrasounds) and although most stats checked out okay, Mia wasn't practice breathing enough to their liking. The doc at the specialist's office decided that I should go straight to the hospital (next door to the office) and check in to be induced that evening. When my regular ob found out she wasn't thrilled as she wanted to wait at least until 39 weeks (2 days later). The on call doc decided to have me stay overnight to see if I made any progress, otherwise they were going to wait 2 days to have me induced. I guess all the checking if I was dialated got me going and that evening I went into active (but slow labor). I was 3 cm by morning and 5 by 7pm that night. At that point the ob was considering c-section since my water had been broken and they didn't want to risk infection. They upped the Pitocin to the max and the ob told me she was going to dinner and we would go for a c-section if I had not progressed. When the time came for her to come back the nurse told me that my priority for the surgical room had been pushed down to # 2 since a woman had walked in with a breech baby...more time to labor! When the doctor came back after 2 hours (due to the wait time in the surgical room) I had made it to 10cm! After 40 minutes of pushing) my beautiful little girl was born. Mia Elise (I was team green by the way) was 8 lbs 11 oz and 20.75 inches. We're both so in love with her!!
