Pregnant after IF

Will you have me? Not sure I belong...

Hi -

I am treading gently here. I am not sure I belong, but hope you will have me as so many of the women I know from 3T have come over here too and they have been my support in my TTC journey. DH and I both have dxs (see below) so I went straight to 3T when I joined TB in January. But we had some kind of miracle happen and we conceived in our 4th month of trying. DH and I are in complete shock since we were prepared by our OB and RE and URO to be trying for at least a year. Our RE is a bit baffled himself since we were on a break and preparing to do our first IUI. I am feeling a level of guilt about this because I know most of you had a much longer and intensely stressful journey.

I would love to be here with the other women I am familiar with, but I understand if you would rather me be on 1st tri since I haven't had the same degree of struggles. Let me know what you think.

Congrats to all of you for being here!!

  • In my opinion IF is just as much about the psychological as the physical aspects, and the very fact that you've had to face its reality means you belong here, as does the very fact that you're sensitive about it in a way so many others will never have to learn to be. So, welcome, from me anyway, and so many congrats!

  • I'm feeling the same way! Even though I have a dx and have been ttc for 2 years, I still feel guilty that I haven't gone through alot of treatment to get here.

It's great to see you here! Congratulations!!

  • It's amazing how IF messes with our heads.  I was ttc for 2 years before getting this BFP, and still felt guilty about it because it happened on an unmedicated cycle before we ever made it to our first medicated cycle.  It's hard when you know so many people who have been through multiple rounds of IUI and IVF.  I think you're fine posting here.  Congrats, and welcome!

  • I was TTC for four and a half years, but once I went through IVF, it only took one ER and one FET. I did feel a little guilty for doing it so quickly, but I belong here so much more than on 1st tri. So, welcome. It doesn't really matter how long your journey was but the difficulty in your journey if that makes sense.
