Stay at Home Moms

s/o of those that like being home all day....for those who like to be out of the home

What are you doing if you're normally out of the home with your kid(dos) as opposed to mostly staying home?

  • Parks and playgrounds, playdates, library playroom or story time, local indoor garden/museum, children's science center, errands, walks around the neighborhood... probably more I'm forgetting!

  • We aren't gone all day every day, but we go somewhere almost every day. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays we usually go to the gym. Tuesdays we go toddler music class and then we usually have lunch with my grandma. Thursdays we meet up with friends or go on a "field trip" somewhere. We have memberships to the zoo and children's museum, and there is also an indoor playground that we visit. We usually do our running around in the morning, then home for some play and lunch. Afternoons we head outside and do art activities.

  • We do parks, playdates, lessons, lunch out, the zoo, museum, legoland, sealife and six flags (we have season passes to the last five). In the summer we are at the pool everyday and waterpark at least twice a week.
  • We are out everyday doing something- mostly in the morning.  By the afternoon I don't really want to get back into the car so we just play outside when the weather is nice enough.  On Mon/Wed/Fri Parker has school in the morning so we're out dropping her off and picking her up.  I also do groceries on Monday and visit my memere on Wednesday.

Tuesday Parker has swim in the morning and Thursday I go to the gym and Rowan has swim in the evening.

Friday morning I keep as a free day to catch up on a Target run if I need to, or some sort of miscellaneous thing.

  • We are very active in Moms Club, so today we have a lunch bunch baby shower (potluck lunch w/ friends) and tomorrow we are walking the mall with friends.  Wednesday we have storytime.
  • I hate being in the house all day! DS1 goes to preschool in the morning. and while he is there I go to the gym, run errands, and then go home to shower, etc. He comes home, has lunch and some quiet play time, and then we are out again from 3:30/4-6:30 or so. Soccer class once a week (part of the year he has swimming, too), a weekly playgroup through my MOMS Club, play dates, museums,  the library....when it isn't freezing we are at a playground almost every afternoon (we live near a ton of great playgrounds), bike riding.....really anything. In the winter if we run out of things to do we even just walk to Starbucks for a treat or something like that. It is why I love living in the city - no matter the weather or how little time we have we can always get out and do something fun.

  • I cannot be in the house all day.  We go to the gym every day, Mon we go to the grocery store, Tues is Target and Thursday we go visit my parents.

Wed and Fri after the gym are usually just playing outside with the neighbors, the playground, a playdate, library, zoo, aquarium or children's museum

  • I'm the same as most of y'all ~ I hate being in the house all day; it drives me CRAZY!  DD is 4, though, and we live in a huge metropolitan city, so I can't imagine staying home really at all, unless one of us is sick.

She's in preschool 3 full days a week (I have my own business and I help my mom with our family business/my dad's estate), so I'm busy those days with that, my MOPS group, lunch with friends, the gym, running errands, etc.

On the two days DD is home with me, we're doing Bible study (she goes to the church daycare), lunch out, seeing my mom, running errands, dance class, going to playdates with the moms' group that I run, grocery store, and more errands.  We also take walks around our neighborhood, go to indoor playgrounds, go to the playground, the zoo, etc etc.  We have SO much to do here, and she likes to go out and do stuff, too.

  • Mornings we almost always have something going on: preschool, playgroups, "fieldtrips" though our mom's group, park, dr. appt, swim lessons, zoo, grocery shopping...... I could go on.

Afternoons, if we go out, its to the park, a Target run, out for ice cream and playing at the outdoor mall kid area, or the library... In the winter, I like going to the library 1 afternoon a week, just to get out of the house since we can't get outside much..and they have a great play area in there!

  • I should say that we DO stay home sometimes, mostly in the afternoons, so that she can watch a movie (no naps anymore) and we do just play...but more often than not, we're out and about :)

  • Oh wow, we are super busy.  I work Mondays, so on Tuesdays DD goes to preschool in the mornings, and I usually hit the gym and do weekly grocery shopping. After school usually do picnics and parkdates with friends. Wed mornings, kids take it easy with dad in the morning, while I go to the gym and usually make a target run or other needed errands.  DH works nights so I do a lot without the kids in the morning hours.  Wed afternoons she has dance class, and then we usually come home and crash.  Thursday AM DD goes to school, and we usually have a playdate.  Fridays is our free day so we do zoo, museums, parks, mall, shopping for fun stuff...and then when DS is old enough I am sure we will be out and about with his activity schedule!  LOL!

  • Today was kind of a typical day- I was only home a few hours this afternoon until DH got home from work. We left around 9am to visit my mom, had some coffee/breakfast there while DD had her nap. Went to the park at 11, had lunch outside, came home at 1 for DSs nap. He slept til 4, made dinner for the family then, DH home at 5.

we do the zoo/children's museum/playground/story time at the library/visiting friends and family/errands during the week. The kids go to daycare on thursday afternoons from 1-5. I would say maybe 1 day a week we stay home all day. Every other day we're out from around 1030-2 between the kids naps.

  • We aren't out all day but I def try and get out and burn energy before lunch and nap. My kids take a late nap at around 1:30 so it gives us plenty of time. DS goes to school until 12:00 on Tues/Thurs and on Tues I take DD to Gmboree class while DS is at school so those two day's of the week are covered. Monday is usually a lazy day home or reserved for errands but once spring is here it will be spent at the park. Wednesday we hit up either the library, indoor play place, visit family etc. Friday is reserved for special play date with Grandma, Auntie and their cousin. On this day we tend to skip naps and do something fun and eat out. Once it's warm out we are all over the place. We do the Zoo, day trips to San Fransisco, swim lessons, soccer practice. I love to be busy. Keeps my house clean because we are always on the go

  • We usually head out about 9:30 and hit the park and come home around 11:30 for nap. Then when DS gets up he has lunch and I may run an errand or two or go to another park.

We have memberships to the kids museum, zoo, arboretum and theme park so probably 1-3 days a week we do that in the morning before nap- sometimes in the afternoon but I like to be home by bedtime otherwise DS goes nuts. We also are members of a moms club so we do a couple of meet ups with them a week.

I cannot stay at home all day and neither can DS. He needs to be active and the more fresh air/running/climbing/outside play time he gets, the better he naps and the better he behaves.

  • Going to the park. We go to story time once a week at the library. Maybe a playdate every now and then..

ETA: During the summer we will hopefully go to the pool at least a couple of times a week.

  • I usually spread out our errands so we leave the house at least once a day.  I know, not the best for gas/environment, but it's not safe for my DH if I am cooped up all day.  When the weather gets nice we will walk to a close park instead of driving somewhere.

We do the grocery store, Target, swim lessons twice a week and infant story time.  Sometimes we will go to the mall if I have something we can look at or get there.
