-Set up your kid's lunches in advance by pre-packing all the dry goods like chips or crackers in baggies on Sunday. Pre-cut veggies and put in fridge containers.
4) Favorite ready-in-five-minutes meal! Bread, cheese, salami, apples, grapes and veggies on a platter. Weeknight picnic!
5) Weekend plans? Birthday party on Sat. for some daycare friends, family brunch on Sunday.
6) What are you favorite magazines? The Week, Sunset (although it has started to cater to hipsters and has gone way downhill), Houzz on iPad.

7) 2 things you love about you home. 1- my newly renovated master bedroom. I feel like I'm in a hotel. 2- My big empty unfinished basement that I turned into a makeshift gym.
8) 2 things you hate about your home. 1- one of the largest rooms on the first floor is very isolated and therefore not used as much as it could be. 2- not as much counterspace in the kitchen as I would like

10) What is your best skill? Hobby? I love to cook- but not really bake. I love to experiment with new-to-me foods (like kamut). I also frequently attempt to turn my family's old-school italian recipes into more healtful options- I have had some major success in the past couple of months. I also love to read and started running last year.

Going to a horse auction - hoping to sell one we have & come home with a new one for DH. I'm getting up at 1am to pick up my trainer and then come back home to met DH and drive for 4.5 - 5 hours to the auction, and hopefully be there by 7:30 or 8 am... I need to take a nap this afternoon... uggh.

Dog show with one of our dogs, sheep to be herded, then cut the grass and clean out horse stalls. Also going to get DD's bag packed with the "details" for the sitter's this week - sunscreen, bug spray, snacks, etc.

-We have enough land that we were able to bring the horses home!
-We have a fireplace in the basement and a wood burning stove in the living room, right off the kitchen. Love spending the winter evenings curled up on the couch with the fire going.

-The idiot we bought it from did a lot of "home repairs" that were a DIY disaster in every case; the house inspection didn't catch them, so we uncover a new disaster almost every month and it makes me want to punch him. The latest being that he ran the water discharge from the clothes washer to the sump pump pit, not only causing the sump pump to work super hard, but also mucking it up with lint and crap that comes from the washer, causing it to seize up. Idiot.
-Part of our land is a little uneven, and the ground is clay underneath, so when it rains, the waters collects in the low spots and sits, making it a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes.

1) Have you read The Hunger Games? No. I'm too busy re-reading the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon (that is, when I have the energy after a loooong day at work).
2) What are you wearing? Pyjamas. I stole the pants (really soft ones) from my husband. My mom bought them for him for Christmas. I'm thinking of getting them hemmed because they are waaaay too long, and I want to keep them (my DH has more-or-less agreed with this).
3) Give us some new Working Mom tips! Hmmm... It's been a few years since I was a "new" working mom, but here goes: try to leave work at work, and not think about it because you need to enjoy the time with your child when you get home. I'm a teacher, so there's lots of work I can take home. I try to get to work early in the morning to get stuff done, and use my lunch to do stuff as well so that I don't have to leave work too late.
4) Favorite ready-in-five-minutes meal! Grilled cheese & chicken sandwiches. I keep some cooked chicken breasts in the freezer (sliced) and add them to my sandwiches ( you have to thaw in the microwave first so that they don't get the bread soggy). I also keep pre-cut raw veggies in the fridge, so we usually have those on the side (along with pickles. DS would go crazy if we didn't have a pickle with the grilled cheese).
5) Weekend plans? DS' first swimming lesson & spending some time with DH because he's been OOT, and will only be home on weekends for the next 4 months.
6) What are you favorite magazines? Style at Home or any other home decorating magazine.
7) 2 things you love about you home. 1- My room is on the main floor. 2- I got to buy new appliances when we moved in because they didn't come with the house.
8) 2 things you hate about your home. 1- We're renting. 2- It has no insulation, so you can hear everything inside/outside, from upstairs to the basement, etc.

Steamed tofu with packaged mapo tofu sauce or squid a-la-pobre
For squid ala pobre, i just saute butter, olive oil, lots and lots of minced garlic, and then squid rings for some one to two minutes (till the squid curls), and then i add a table spoon or two of asian liquid seasoning. YUM 
perfect on top of steamed rice.

Strollin the park on saturday and do grocery shopping. Go to church on Sunday (it is palm sunday
) and then go swimming

Anything about parenting, cooking, and homemaking. Good housekeeping, fine.
