  • It's like a Nosefrida and it works really well, way better than a nasal aspirator.  You provide the suction, you don't get anything near your mouth.

  • I'm seriously considering getting one of these the next time the girls are sick.

The nasal aspirator I normally use is apparently the Hitler of nasal aspirators and will cause immediate scream-crying if they even see it on the counter.

  • I've heard good things about that, and the boogers don't go into your mouth :)
  • We have a baby comfynose and I wouldn't have it any other way. DH refuses to use it, but it is awesome for getting so much more out, and quicker. C is actually really patient and almost seems to offer his nose for it now when he's really stuffy and sees I have it.

  • My friends swear by those types of nose suckers, but I just can't do it. It turns my stomach just to look at the pics.

  • This is somewhat unrelated but I've heard of parents actually sucking boogers straight from their babies' noses because they were unable to breath and were turnign blue. Both mothers told me that to this day they don't know what happened to said boogers because they were just too afraid to care about that.

So yeah, my sister ate boogers to save my niece's life.

  • I have a NoseFrida and love it. DH and I totally recommend it to other parents (even though DH won't use it LOL) I have never gotten boogers in my mouth, and DH doesn't even scream when we use it (she hates the saline drops, though)

It is kinda gross looking, though!

  • I don't know how anyone can feel satisfaction using a regular bulb aspirator. The Nosefrida gets so much more snot out. There's such fun in getting the mother of all boogers out of your kids' nose.

The Nosefrida changed my life. It benefits me in two ways: I get Ellie's nose clear quicker and more efficiently than the bulb syringe, and I get to laugh at H gagging on the couch.

  • The nose frida is hands down the single best thing I've ever bought for DD.  It is a miracle item when she is sick.

This.  What is it about the DHs though?  Mine is the same way.  He refuses to do it, says it's disgusting.  I, on the other hand, love the thing.  Major satisfaction getting all that gunk out (gross alert*** i love hearing the wet slurping sound cause I know it's a going to be a good one!!)  Although I do have to wrestle my kids to hold still in order for me to do it (meaning they won't happily do it).  I even still do it for my 4 year old when she's really stuffy!

apparently we have the same aspirator... My son freaks at fist sight.

I would totally consider getting one of these, but I don't think I'd tell anyone and probably keep it hidden because it sure looks like the parents sucks boogs out. which is gross.

...maybe I'll order this one online and ship it to my parents house... Stick out tongue

Yep, we have the NoseFrida, and I love it.  My kids have allergies, so there is a ton of snot at our house.  We started with regular bulb suckers from the hospital, and eventually I got one of the battery operated ones that burned out in a couple of months.  At that point, I decided it was time to take the leap into this world, and I haven't looked back.

Wow, are you related to my co-worker!?  Seriously, she did this exact same thing when her young cousin couldn't breathe and was turning blue. It's gross but the child seriously couldn't breathe and she saved her life.

    Ummm, I meant DD...

But I do threaten to use it on DH when he has a head cold and is whiny about it! He won't let me (and for some reason that totally seems gross to me...)

  • Mine don't like it, but they don't like the aspirator, either.  And, sometimes it doesn't work as well at various stages of stuffiness (just like the aspirator), but man oh man, does it work when they're goopy...

Maya grabs it and holds it up to her nose, now :P

  • DD#1 doesn't like it, but it works so well.  Especially after I squirt some saline spray up there.

We have the HydraSense, though.  I preferred the shape over the NoseFreida.  I had to order it from Canada.  Worth it though.

  • I tried using the bulb once, it didn't work, and I really haven't had to or used anything since... weird. I saw these a while ago and thought they were a good idea but didn't think I'd get much use out of it.  I am lucky in that L will actually blow his nose when I hold a tissue to it.  He thinks it's hilarious!

Am I the only one who doesn't suck boogers out of my child's nose?  Like ever?  I just wipe it.  Maybe I am missing out though.  I do pick his nose occasionally though.

when LO was a baby I did but she will blow her nose now and if there is a big booger in there I will get it out or I tell her to and then wipe it on the tissue.
