Adoptive parents, gift question

Hello all!

Not sure if this is the best place to post this, but I hope it is.

A friend of ours is adopting a 10 month old boy, and I wonder what to give them as a gift. Is there something that you would suggest? Something you were really happy to have received?

    Will you be at the hearing? When my friends adopted we attended the hearing, took plenty of pictures and created a nice photo album for them.

    Or maybe something with the child's new name on it.

    Something with the child's name on it, a keepsake type of gift, a gift card to have family pictures taken, a membership to the zoo (or somewhere similar.)

    I liked things with my son's monogram . . . blanket, frame, onesie, etc.  There was something really cool about finally seeing our child's name with our last name.
