DS had his 4 month check up today (few days shy of 4 months). Anyway, he was 13 pounds 12 oz (25th percentile). He was 7 pounds 12 oz at birth. He is ebf. Anyway, the pedi was not concerned (he's 25 1/2 inches long - 75th percentile) but it seems EVERYONE i know who has a baby is in the 75th percentile or above for weight. It seems like people love to brag about how heavy there baby is. When I tell people about DS's appt, they always ask "How big is he?" What's up with the big baby obsession? Anyone else have a lanky baby?

90% H, 50% W
I occasionally get comments about how he has chicken legs and I should feed him more. (he eats like a horse)
I think it's a holdover from when there was a risk of not getting enough to eat. Fat baby= healthy baby.
Of course I tend to overthink things...
Gee...I know what you mean. My ds is in the 5th percentile for his weight. So don't feel bad. My pedi wasn't concerned yet about his weight but I am going back to get him weighed in a week. I wouldn't be jealous...long little baby's are just as cute. I call him my "little" guy! But I do look at everyone else's baby thinking "wow- mine needs to gain some weight!".
Yep. DD was 25% for weight and 90% for height. Our Pedi wasn't concerned and said that she even expects to see the percentile for weight to decrease even more. That's just the way DD is built.
At DS's 4 month he was in the 2% for weight and 3% for length! He was born small and will probably always be a little boy. I know that he's healthy and eats good so I'm not worried.
