How do you warm LO's bottle?

Do you use a warmer, microwave, stove or some other form? Also, if you use a warmer, please reccomend one. I'm just trying to figure out how everybody does it! With LO #1 I used a bottle warmer but they stopped making that one (I no longer have it) and the new ones all have horrible reviews except for the $70.00 ones which are out of the question for me. Thanks in advance!

Re: How do you warm LO's bottle?

  • With the bm I pump I just put it in a cup of hot water for a couple of minutes. With the formula I just leave the nursery water out, fill up the bottles and add the formula, I don't warm it so I wouldn't know how to warm the formula.

  • I warm DD formula bottle just in a cup of warm water for a few min.  I didn't buy a warmer bc I felt like a cup of warm water would do just as good

  • I use First Years bottle warmer (it was around $25) and knew that the quality wasn't going to be great.  I bought it when DS was still waking in the night for a bottle and I felt like the warm water in a glass took too long.

My complaint from the bottle warmer is that it has a mind of its own.  Sometimes the bottle is cold after I heat it - and other times it is scorching hot!  However, I still like it better than using hot water in a glass.

I've read to never heat in a microwave as it can cause hot spots and burn the baby.

  • I use the Dr. Brown's bottle warmer. It's around 40 dollars and I have no complaints.

  • I use hot water in a cup to warm it. PP is right about the microwave not being recommended.

  • I run the bottle under warm water until the milk is about room temp (check it on the back of my hand).

  • Either I give DS room temp bottles, or I boil it on the stove. After the water starts to boil I will wait about a minute then test it on my wrist. He likes it warm more than room temp. And it helps him sleep easier
  • I BF but when we need to warm up pumped milk from the fridge we run warm water thru our Kurieg coffee maker and let the bottle sit in the water for a few minutes.
