Family tradition has us naming our children's middle names with the same middle initial as the father, which begins with F in MH's case. Boy middle names have been easier as DS has been given DH's MN. As it were, we are having a difficult time finding girl's MN we like.
Our criteria is as follows:
- must start with F
- must go with a 3 syllable last name starting with L- and ending in -er
- cannot be Fiona, Frances, Fatima, Frieda, Francesca, Faye (DH thinks trashy), Fallon (thinks of Jimmy), Felicity/Felicia/Felice.
- no virtue names
- prefer names of anglo-saxon/germanic/scandinavian origin; though if something is nice, origin wouldn't disqualify it
As a note, the first name will be dependent on whatever MN is chosen, so it doesn't really need to be considered.
Re: Girl middle name beginning with F
Freya is the only one I can think of the cultural origins you specify (besides Frieda which you already said you can't use).
Personally though, I love Flavia.
I am partial to Flora.
Other F names: Fancy, Farrah, Fabienne, Fawn, Fedora, Felipa, Filipa, Fern, Fleur,
Some possibilities:
Florence
Fable
Finn (my personal favorite)
Farrah
Flynn
Freyja/Freya
Fehren <----------------My Fav!
Farrah [Fawcett ]
Fflur/Fleur
Finn
Flannery
Feline/Fellinne
Femke
Flora/Florina
Florence/Florens
Fredrika
One of my favorites is Fern. Since it is one syllable it should nicely complement a 3 syllable FN.
I fell in love with this name when we were on our HM in Scotland. My name is Heather and as we drove through the country side, what was growing along side the heather but fern.
I like Fern or Florence. Some people are using Finnley for girls.. it's not bad.
