Used Bugaboo Cameleon?

My sister in law has a Bugaboo Cameleon and got hers used and was advising us to do the same.  I like the Bugaboo (take my nephew around in it a lot), but am weary of buying used.  We can afford to buy it brand new, but why do so if I can get it for a fraction of the price?  We're going to see one tonight that is literally pennies compared to the retail price.  Anyone had experiences buying a used stroller?  I know to check it out fully and make sure it's working 100% and in good condition.

Re: Used Bugaboo Cameleon?

  • I have a 3rd hand bugaboo frog and its still in good condition and works great. I paid less for it than all my friends paid for their strollers. I'd do it again too! Oh we did, our jogging stroller is also 2nd hand :)!

  • I bought a used Bugaboo Cameleon off our local craigslist and am so happy that I did. To buy it new with all of the accessories we received (umbrella, travel case, footmuff, cup holder, 2 colors of fleece inserts, car seat adaptor, sunshade) would have been about $1,400 and we paid $250. It seems to be a great stroller and I can't wait to use it daily. I push it around our house sometimes and my husband thinks I am nuts. We too could have afforded to buy it new but didn't see any point. I was considering buying new and buying a stroller that had an option to convert to a double. However, I am not sure when we'll have our next child and how necessary that option will be for us and the second seat option always seemed to have some limitations as to position, etc except with the BJ City Select which is bulkier as a single than the Cameleon. I figured I could always learn my stroller likes/dislikes, any features I would want by using the Bugaboo and maybe buy new if we need a double in a couple years. I wouldn't hesitate to buy used if I were you. Worse comes to worse you can always resell to recoup some if not all of your money.
