The one things that I did not know about kids and sleeping is that you have to do some form of "sleep training" over and over! My 3 year old is a good sleeper, but even he goes through phases once or twice a year where he starts getting up for one reason or another (bad dreams, learning to wake up and pee at night, etc). I think every few months something can occur that disturbs sleep: new milestones (they are excited to walk), teeth, illness, changes in routine, etc. the other thing that I have found is once kids get into a habit of waking up at a certain time, it sticks! For example if teething gets baby up for a few nights at 3 am, it can become a habit and then waking sticks around even when teething is done! I like the book Sleep Easy Solution... It discusses all kinds of developmental/environmental issues that can disrupt sleep and how to approach them
Hmmm... Could it be some type of outside noise? When I go into LO's room, I notice I can hear more stuff from outside. Or could it be separation anxiety? I think that's common at this age and causes problems with STTN. Or bad dreams?
It could be lots of different things For my LO, the longest she will sleep is from about 8pm to 5am, then has to wake up (I guess she thinks 5 am is wake up time, but it is not) so we co-sleep from then til about 7:30 am.
Currently she is not STTN because of her teeth and a double ear infection.
