Hi Ladies,Just had my shower and trying to organize it all. This may be a dumb question, but did you wash everything first? Of course I'll wash the sheets, clothes, blankets, towels, but What about the grocery cart cover, lovies, stuffed animals, crib skirt, boppy covers, etc?
Re: Do you wash EVERYTHING?
I wash things that touch baby- grocery cart cover, boppy cover, lovies
We personally did not LO have stuffed animals till he was 1 so I did not wash them to sit on his shelf.
I did not wash things until about a month out so they would still be fresh and only washed newborn and 0-3 clothes...
This is a good question. i got so many dern socks! i was thinking not to wash the socks. they are so tiny, and she'll probably have them on for a whole 10 min's before they hit the floor, etc. THEN i was thinking of washing them.
enless they end up in the mouth?
LOL...picking their nose!

I washed clothes (2 NB outfits, and all the 0-3 - I left the tags on the rest of the NB in case he was too big for them when he was born so I could exchange them if needed), sheets, blankets, towels, boppy covers, and the lovie blanket/animal thing. I didn't wash the crib skirt, stuffed animals, or the cart cover. I did eventually wash the cart cover before I used it, but DS was 6 months old before he was able to sit on his own in the cart, so it stayed in the closet, in it's packaging, until then.
Basically, I washed everything he would come into direct contact with on a regular basis, and didn't wash things he wouldn't normally touch (like the crib skirt or the curtains).
Get a lingerie bag for baby socks - costs about $3 at Walmart, and zips shut. We put all of DS's socks into it before they go in the washer, so none of them get lost. They'll definitely end up in the mouth once LO has decent control of her hands, so I'd wash them before using them.
