7 lbs.,7 oz. and 19 inches. We are in love!! Short birth story with a 'lil drama: (cause I'm starting to think that's just the way I roll, lol). RCS was planned for yesterday late morning, but I woke up with one side of my face paralyzed and BP of 160/118, so we scrapped our plans for a leisurely morning and headed in early. By the time we got there it had dropped a bit, but I was spilling protein, so they went ahead and moved me up to deliver him to avoid pre-e worsening. He was born at 9:55 a.m., apgars 7 and 8, took a few to cry, but did just fine after that.
I got to nurse in recovery, which was awesome!! He latched right away and BF is going much better this time around! He is so peaceful and sweet, and looks a lot like Chase did (to me anyway).
As far as my face, it's a little scary looking when I try to smile, and I'm having a hard time drinking from a cup or straw, but hopefully it's just temporary and will make a full recovery in a few weeks to few months. They've started me on antivirals and prednisone in an effort to speed the recovery. Overall, everything is going so well, and I'm thrilled to be a mom again! Not sure how to post pics from an iPad, so maybe this link will work:
