Dogs NBR

When we lived in the desert, I didn't bother with flee/tick collars or meds because they can't survive in that climate. Now that we are on east coast, do I wait for them the attack the dog or just get the meds and be proactive? 

I would ask her vet, but we haven't found one yet, and she doesn't need to see one until July (knock on wood)

    We give our dogs a pill that they take every 30 days, Sentenial.  It works great and is super easy!  That they way don't smell like flee meds. 

    I'd get the meds and be proactive if you are out and about a ton.  but if the dogs mostly stay at home, i'm willing to be you'll be okay.

    Thanks! We like it here so far...we moved in November, so it really wasn't the ideal time to go out and site see, plus my DH's work schedule is so nuts that made it even harder.  So hopefully with the warmer weather we will all be able to get outside more and explore

    We have been using Frontline year round and our dog has never had fleas and I don't think we've ever had to pull a tick off of him either.  He goes to daycare and the dog park so he is constantly around other dogs.

    Our dogs don't really go anywhere, so we've actually never given them flea meds and they've never got infected (but now I'm sure I jinxed myself and we'll be infested in 24 hours :c)
