Pregnant after IF

Cautious Intro and Question

I am 37 yo and my husband is 30 yo.  We started our IVF Process December 2010.  We became pregnant with twins but lost them at 8 weeks.  I have 2 children from my previous marriage (21 yo son & 16 yo daughter) My husband does not have any children.  I had to have my tubes tied due to massive blood clots in both lungs in 2000. My doctor does not do 2 weeks he does 1 week.  My ET was on 3/6. My beta is 27.  The nurse said that they see the numbers start out low in Frozen Embryo Transfers and I will do another test on Friday.  According to betabase.com the median numbers 10 days past ovulation for: Single Pregnancy is 15, for a Twin Pregnancy is 27 and Triple Pregnancy is 29. So this may be a good number since I am not 10 days past ovulation.  IDK, just praying it doubles on Friday.

My question is with it not being a 2 week wait is this an ok beta number for a frozen embryo transfer?

Re: Cautious Intro and Question

  • It's true that FETs often result in lower starting betas.  It's really the doubling that matters more, not the initial number.

Just to make sure I understand,

    1) Is the beta from today (which is 8 days past transfer)?

    2)  were the embies frozen at Day 5 past retrieval?  If so, you are currently 13 dpo, not 10 dpo.

  • Thanks ELF4321. Yes the beta is from the 3/6 Frozen Embryo Transfer.  Yes they were frozen at day 5 after retrieval.

  • I think it's a pretty good number for only being 7dp5dt.  I haven't done a FET but I'm pretty sure that's what you would be considered.
