11 more weeks? are u serious?! (rant)

i am huge! or at least i feel huge! i am at 29 weeks and i have already gained around 40 lbs! this is super depressing and its not like i can diet or do many exercises. its hard to put my socks on! i know its my own fault because i could have definitely eaten better. and i know i should be grateful that there have been no complications so far. and that as far as my midwife can see the baby is doing great. i know i am lucky. however it is sooo awful to be this huge and i cant believe i have 11 weeks left and who knows how many before i can start exercising again! i went to buy a nursing bra the other day and measured an E cup! i cannot wait for this to be over.......rant officially done! thanks for listening to me complain, everyone else just says "honey youre pregnant" "you look fine" or they tell me how much weight  they gained  when they were pregnant.ugh!

  • Is there any reason why you can't do light walking and modify your eating habits to healthier food choices?

  • i do a walking routine and i feel like its getting me no where. i also work full time, working with children so my days are pretty demanding. i am not necessarily eating horribly, usually cereal for breakfast with skim milk. lunch is usually yogourt  fruit carrots (no dip) and crackers with cheese. dinner varies, but i always have a veggie with dinner. not doing too many fried/processed foods. sometimes i feel like a jackass for eating all these good foods and STILL gaining 40 lbs.
  • I know how you feel. I haven't gained as much weight with this pregnancy as I did with the first, but I still feel huge. A friend of DH's said over the weekend, man you must be due any day. Um well no I have like 2 months left. I do remember though that my weight gain did slow down quite a bit in the last 10 weeks of pregnancy so maybe that will happen for you too. Just remember our bodies are all different and we all gain differently as long as your midwife or doctors aren't concerned just keep doing what you think is best for baby and for yourself. GL.

  • I am there with you.  I don't eat horribly but I could have done better.  I am at 30 lbs at 32 weeks but I was at 28 lbs at my 28 week appointment so I feel my weight gain is slowing down thank goodness.

  • I know it is so hard to not feel down about the weight gain. I had worked really hard to gt fit before I got pregnant and then bam! I'm 38 wks and I've prob gained about 50 lbs. Docs said they only wanted me to gain 25-35 lbs.... yeah right! I have noticed that the weight is in the mid area, belly, a little extra cushion in the tush and my hips.

  • I have gained 35lbs at 29 weeks. It is depressing but I know I will lose it once baby is out. I got cut off of walking around 20 weeks and have gained 25 of it in the past nine weeks. I admit I dont eat the best but I got to the point where it was eat carbs or be horribly nauseous. It will come off once baby is here. With my first I lost 25lbs the first 6 weeks and that was eating nothing but bad food. Also if your planning on breast feeding that helps.

  • I gained pretty quickly with my last pregnancy.  At one point, I had gained 9 pounds in 3 weeks, and my OB said it was too much.  She told me to cut carbs from one meal a day.  She said "I dont' want you to diet.  I just want you to cut carbs from one of your meals.  You body obviously isn't processing them well".  I ended up gaining 52 pounds during that pregancny.  That said, I'm watching what I eat during this pregnancy, and I'm only 1 pound under where I was the last time.  At 27 weeks, I'm up 30lbs.  The last time around, I was at 38lb by the time I hit 31 weeks.

At the end of the day, you'll lose the weight.  But I hear you about being uncomfortable!  I couldn't walk to the end of the street without crying the last time around.
