repost from Nov board re: brown spotting

All day I've had clear watery CM. Not a huge amount, but enough to feel it come out. So I kept going to the bathroom and checking because I thought it felt like blood coming out, but it was clear and watery...sometimes a little creamy. But this last time it was creamy mixed with very light brown. So I'm sitting here thinking negative and thinking it's just going to get worse from here.

I don't have any cramping right now. But this combined with my boobs becoming way less sore over the last couple of days has got me really worried. :(

It's too late too call the doctor's office. Pretty sure they'd just say keep an eye on it. I don't have my first appointment until April 2nd (they don't confirm pregnancy until 7 wks).

Thoughts/advice? :(

Also, is the watery/creamy CM normal?

  • I'm having this too. I googled it and it says the extra CM is leukorrhea caued by estrogen.

  • during my last pregnancy, I had so much CM during the beginning that I was going through multiple panty liners a day. Also, it is normal for your boobs to go in and out of pain. I wouldn't worry too much right now!

  • Yeah mine is clear and it just started yesterday and it's been going on all day. But I'm guessing the light brown could have been spotting from implantation bleeding since you're early in the pregnancy. I didn't have any but I've read that it's really common in early pregnancies.

  • Not much can comfort someone when they are pregnant and bleeding. I had this with my first pregnancy (at 5 weeks) and if I recall correctly, my doctor said brown blood/discharge is not very concerning and is likely old blood or implantation bleeding.

Some women bleed while pregnant for no reason at all. I bled through most of my pregnancy (sometimes bright red) and it was just determined I was "one of those women" and I had a healthy baby. Bleeding can happen after sex, vaginal exams, etc.

My advice, is to rest and drink water. Call in the morning for reassurance.

  • I had brown spotting for a couple of days around 6wks. I spoke to the nurse and she told me not to worry too much about it if it's brown; that it was most likely old blood from implantation bleeding. I would definitely call the doctor's office and if it continues insist on being seen before April 2nd.
