Does my husband need to go with me? He's trying to save his personal/vacation days for when the baby gets here, but I didn't know if they would need to talk to him for any reason. Thanks!
The anatomy scan they do at 20ish weeks? No, he doesn't NEED to go, but he would probably enjoy it. You look at baby!
No, it's the scan to check for the possibility of Down's syndrome. He's definitely going to the gender reveal... that vacation day is already scheduled!
he doesn't need to go for any reason, but it is another chance to see baby!! my DH came to all u/s. he wouldn't need to take the whole day it is done in less than an hour. since you get the results that same day you might want him there for support.

It's all personal choice anyway. But with DD, DH did come because it was a clear look at baby (and I think that helped it be more real for him) and you do get the results then which is good if you need the support.
Baby #3 is on the way! EDD 3/8/15 DD1--8/29/10 DD2--11/6/12
It's the first time you'll get to see the baby (and it looks like a baby!). The pictures from my NT scan are so much better than the a/s. It was our first u/s and was a really emotional moment for us. Out of all of the appointments to come with, I'd say the NT scan and a/s are the two biggies.

He doesn't need to go. My H went but it's not a necessity. It's a longer ultrasound and you get lots of time seeing the baby so I would just make it up to him whether he wants to go or not.

Oh, okay. Just checking. I did not have a NT scan with S. I think it's hit or miss. DH and I discussed the "what if's" early on in my last pregnancy, and decided we wouldn't do anything differently regardless of the results. So that's why I opted out of the test altogether. Talk to your DH about what choices you think you would or would not be willing to make. If you are both comfortable with that prior, I don't think he needs to come. But if there is any question, I would say he should go so that he can ask questions, as appropriate, too.
We used to feel this way too until we found our daughters limb were bring ripped from her body while she was alive. Don't ever say never. You really don't know how you would react if faced with a decision like we were. The NT scan looks for more than just Downs Syndrome. Your post holds some untruths and poor advice IMO.
my husband didnt go... but once i was there i wish he did... I had my mom go with me instead and was happy to share the experience with her
It was the first time i got to hear the heartbeat, and the baby actually looked like a baby and not a gummy bear ... im sure there are going to be ALOT more appt. he will be at that we get to hear and see the same things...

He doesn't NEED to, no. I mean I might tell him to be on standby for a phone call if you need to discuss something at the office.

No, he doesn't need to be there but my DH is coming to the NT scan and anatomy scan.
I agree, I want support if they find anything questionable.
On the fun side, it is a very clear ultrasound where your LO really looks like a baby. We really enjoyed it last time.
Ditto.
