I used pampers diapers with my first until he was about a year old. I then switched to the target brand. I swear the target brand are the best diapers! Since I didnt switch him to the target brand until he was one I don't know how well they hold up for those early months when baby is just born. Tell me your experience with the target brand diapers for babies who are just drinking mommas milk or formula (no solids yet). I want to start stocking up on diapers and not sure if I should go with the target brand. Just an FYI was never impressed with the pampers. I felt that my son was always leaking and had alot of blowouts. Thanks!
Re: Target Brand Diapers
We used Pampers Swaddlers exclusively until DS was about 9 months old. I then tried the Target brand and really liked them. Now we only buy Target's Up & Up brand or Luvs because they are so much less expensive, and both work well for DS. the Target ones run a bit bigger in size, but I give Luvs a slight edge in absorbency. I personally would not trust the Target ones for exclusively breast-fed babies in the first few months though. For this next little guy, I will stock up on the Swaddlers again until he's well established on solids!
This may be a dumb FTM question, but why?
I'm using Target brand diapers on my newborn. I agree that he doesn't smell as nice as he did when he was in pampers, but you get used to it. You have to be careful to make sure the little ruffles are outside and don't get trapped on the inside. They don't seem to be as nice as pampers, but they are half the price.
I mainly breastfeed (he gets a bottle of formula every now and again - I'm talking about no more than 4 oz a week). I've had two problems with leaks, both were small. One was out the side of his leg, the other was up his back.
Overall, if money wasn't an issue for us, I'd go with the pampers. (Those are the only two brands I have tried yet).
Wow, I had no idea! Thanks for the info.
