3rd Trimester

33 weeks and pressure

Ok so I'm 33 weeks as of Wensday and I'm feeling a little more pressure then I usually do. I'm experencing a lot more lower back then usually and some cramping. I see my OB on Tuesday should I wait and see if it gets worse or should I go ahead and call him. I have been drinking water and am resting. This is my first pregnancy so I'm not really sure what to expect and what not to expect.can anybody give me any advice?

  • Sounds normal to me but if you are concerned please call your doc or advice nurse.
  • Sounds pretty normal... This is around the time when baby can start dropping into the pelvis and getting ready for birth so that's probably what's going on. That and the fact that baby is really packing on the ounces now and that will put more pressure on your cervix. If you start having regular contractions or about 5 or 6 an hour I'd give your OB a call.

Doesnt sound like the mucus plug.

  • This started for me this past week....horrid back pain...I have felt menstruall crampy but not contraction-like...just achiness. Lots of lower pelvic pressure. I ignored it at first but it has become worse over the last 48 hours...and I have been experiencing loose stools, which really had me a bit concerned. I hate calling my OB in " freak out" mode....so I did a little bit of Googling and this seems normal and is most probably because the baby is dropping lower into the pelvis ( which for me is true as movement is much lower and the kicks aren't in my lungs any more unless it's a real big soccer kick).

  • That's all normal. Also you will know it when it's your mucus plug, it is a big glob and is pinkish. It is not like discharge. Sounds like you are just having discharge (which will increase throughout your pregnancy).
