Lost weight but clothing doesn't fit

I've somehow lost about 8 pounds since I found out I'm pregnant but all of my clothing feels uncomfortably tight! Has anyone else had this issue? I know it's just bloat but I didn't realize it would be this bad. I'm contemplating getting some maternity pants but feel like it's waaaay too soon (I'm at 5w3d today). Thanks for your replies/thoughts :)

  • I'm sure it's just bloat.  Try the bella band (or similar) - I used that in my last pregnancy for a few months!

Thanks! I think I'll pick up a band this weekend!

  • With my first, there was about three weeks that I felt way bloated and then it settled down.  I didn't actually need maternity clothes until after 20 weeks.

  • Im in the same boat... 5w2d and ALL my jeans are tight! I went out to the dinner this past weekend with some friends and had to unbutton my pants!!

Very good to know - thank you! I think the band is sounding like the best way to go - a little "help" for now until it (hopefully!) settles down. Keeping fingers crossed. Thanks again :)

I totally hear you! I start off the day feeling fine but the second I eat or drink anything my abdomen feels like it's going to explode and my pants start to dig in. For now I'm just unbuttoning my buttons but I hate the way it feels (and looks). Sounds like the band is definitely on my "to buy" list this weekend. Thanks for helping me feel less odd :)

  • This is me too.  I've lost 7 lbs since getting pg and I'm not sick.  I'm just eating really well.  But my pants still don't fit.  This is #4 though so I guess that should be expected.  It's still hard to have nothing to wear!

I couldn't agree more - I've been raving to my poor husband about how much I love them. Lol.

This is my first, but same thing; I'm not sick, just eating well and not gaining (yet!). I'm a clothing-aholic, so not having a lot of choices of what to wear is driving me nuts :)

  • This is me as well.  I've had some nausea but without throwing up and more connected to when I am hungry, so I've been able to eat without problems.  We adopted a little dog around the time we got the BFP, so I've been walking him a half hour a day, which is additional exercise I wasn't getting before.  So I've gained no weight at all, but none of my pants fit.  I'll be 11 weeks tomorrow, and I don't really feel bloated anymore (it was really bad at the beginning!) but I am definitely getting thicker around the middle.  The bella band is my new best friend. I am going to hit up Old Navy soon to try on some maternity pants, I have a feeling I will start needing them in the next few weeks.
